A proverb is a short and wise saying with a deep meaning, to enrich the
language.
1. Better safe than sorry.
It is wiser to be over cautious and take proper care than to be rash and
unthinking.
2. East or west, home is the best.
One’s home is where one is likely to be the happiest.
3. Rome was not built in a day.
Time, patience and hard work are needed for an important and difficult
task.
4. A stitch in time saves nine.
Taking immediate action at the right time saves a lot of work later.
5. There is a time for everything.
One should do a thing at the right time, at the right place.
6. Two heads are better than one.
Two persons jointly can think, reason or do a thing better, for one may
make up for deficiencies in the other.
7. United we stand, divided we fall.
Groups have more power to act or resist or maintain their position than
individuals acting alone.
8. What is done cannot be undone.
What has already been done cannot be changed
9. Nothing venture nothing done.
One cannot expect to achieve anything if one risks nothing.
