UK Wiring Instructions The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: BLUE = NEUTRAL BROWN = LIVE As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the colour marking identifying the terminals on your plug, proceed as follows: n The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N n The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L n Neither the BLUE nor BROWN wires should be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter E or the symbol This appliance is supplied fitted with a BS1363 mains plug and a BS1362 3A fuse. If this plug is removed from the appliance please ensure it is disposed of safely as a disconnected plug is dangerous if reconnected to the mains. If any other type of plug is used, a 3A fuse must be fitted. 7 Instructions for Use A Assembling the Juice Extractor 1. Place the appliance on a level surface with the controls facing you. 2. Place the pulp container/juice spout on top of the motor housing. Twist the pulp container/juice spout anti-clockwise, until it locks into place. 3. Place the filter in the centre of the pulp container. N.B. When replacing the filter please note the filter does not click into place. 4. Place the cover/feed tube on top of the pulp container. Twist the lid anticlockwise, following the arrows until it locks into place. 5. Place the juice pitcher underneath the juice spout. 6. Place the pusher into the slot on the lid. B Dismantling the Juice Extractor 1. Turn off and unplug the juice extractor with the controls facing towards you. 2. Remove the pusher from the cover/feed tube then remove the cover/feed tube from the juice extractor housing by twisting the cover clockwise following the arrows until it unlocks. 3. Gently remove the pulp container/juice spout with the filter still in place by twisting the pulp container/juice spout clockwise to unlock. CAUTION: Do not touch the blades in the bottom of the filter. 4. Remove the juice pitcher. C Using the Juice Extractor 1. Make sure the juice extractor is properly assembled. (See ‘Assembling the Juice Extractor’ in section A). 2. Plug the unit into a mains socket. 3. Wash the selected fruit or vegetables and peel if necessary. 4. Cut selected fruit or vegetables as necessary to fit in the feed tube. 5. Switch the appliance on. 6. Lift the pusher and remove it from the feed tube. Insert the food and push the food using the pusher, pressing firmly. CAUTION: Never use your fingers or any other implement to push fruit or vegetables down the feed tube. 7. The juice will flow into the juice pitcher and the pulp will collect in the pulp container. 8. When all the juice has been extracted, switch the juice extractor off. 8 Cleaning & Maintenance n Make sure the juicer is unplugged before cleaning. n Remove the parts of the juicer by following the dismantling instructions (page 8). n All the pieces that can be removed from the main housing base may be washed in water. They are also dishwasher safe if placed on the top shelf. n Never immerse the housing base in water or spray it with water. n Clean the housing base using a damp sponge, cloth or household paper towel only. When doing so, use washing up liquid, never use abrasive cleaning products which could scratch the surface. n Dry the housing using a soft cloth to restore the brushed finish. n To make cleaning easier, always wash the unit immediately after use. Vegetables and fruit will harden if you leave them to dry on the appliance parts, which will make it more difficult to clean. n First rinse in cold water. Then clean the pulp container, the juice pitcher, the pusher, the lid and the filter in warm, soapy water or place these parts in the dishwasher. Do not use metal brushes or sponges. n CAUTION: Handle the filter with care when washing, the blades at the base of the filter are very sharp. Always clean the filter carefully using the brush provided. n Dry all parts with a towel. 9 UK Guarantee This Waring appliance is guaranteed for consumer use for 3 years. This guarantee covers defects under normal use from date of purchase and ceases to be valid in the event of alteration or repairs by unauthorised persons.
