DK282 Cherub DK Hearts Winter Hat Design by Vera Sanon Cherub DK Hearts Winter Hat Designed by Vera Sanon Knitted hats are a must-have for small children during cold weather. When I designed this hat, I remembered that hats tended to slide of little ones’ heads while playing and often they ended up loosing their hats during play and/or ended up with cold ears. Thus, I designed this hat with earflaps and a way to secure the hat under the chin. Size: 6-12 mos (12-18 mos, 18 mos – 3 yrs) Head Circumference: To fit 16.5 (18, 22)” Materials: Cascade Cherub DK– 1 (1, 1) skein in Main Color (MC) Cascade Cherub DK - 1 (1, 1) skein in Contrast Color (CC) 1 set of US # 5 (3.75 mm) –16” circular needle or 1 set of US #5 (3.75 mm) DPN or needle size to obtain gauge Tapestry Needle Stitch Markers Scrap Yarn or spare knitting needle for holding stitches Gauge: 22 sts = 4 inches in stockinette on larger sized needles. Pattern Notes: The hat is worked from the bottom up, each earflap is worked separately, stitches are held on a spare needle or scrap yarn and then are connected to the base of the hat. The hat is then worked in one piece to the top.
