5. Give students the information for their Resumes – College or career. Due Friday.

4. Students will continue to review persuasive elements. Watch persuasive speeches from
different speakers. Discuss what makes the speeches effective. Hooks? What appeals to them?
5. Students will work on their Persuasive Essays – Begin to choose a topic or issue to take a
side for. Work on the Intro., The Hook, The Thesis, what their issue is, and where they stand.
6. Students will begin to find three sources of information to use for support for the persuasive
essays.

King Leopold and the destruction he created in the Congo.
2. Review characters analysis and read background information of the author, Joseph Conrad.
3. Begin Practice Test for AP English/Literature. Answer Multiple Choice Questions (1st
section of the packet). Work for 10 minutes and the check and grade the answers.
4. Students will begin working on Final Drafts of Persuasive Essays.
5. SAT 10 – Vocabulary.
