Highlights of Xerocon’s first day included the announcement of new features to Xero Payroll, including relieving auto enrolment street through automation. Xero Payroll will automate the workforce assessment of which employees to auto enrol into a pension and the delivery of contribution data between Xero Payroll and the major pension providers. Xero Payroll also handles employees wishing to Opt Out or Opt In to the pension scheme as well as postponements, the calculations of pension contributions and the communications that need to be issued to employees. With Xero Payroll auto enrolment ready, it will enable customers to move from manual processes to a ‘one click’ automated solution meeting regulatory requirements with greater ease, efficiency, confidence, whilst reducing the administrative overheads and potential errors associated with administering auto enrolment and workplace pensions. Xero will seamlessly send pensions contribution information to the major pensions providers, in the correct format automatically. It will eradicate CSV files, increase efficiency, and improve data security. This includes sending pension information to the major providers including The People's Pension, NEST, NOW Pensions, Smart Pensions, Aviva, JLT and L&G. Xero Me : Employee Payroll App Xero continues to simplify critical communications between businesses and their employees with Xero Me, a new mobile app available in the Apple and Google app stores. Xero Me is designed to ease and simplify some of the key tasks that come with employing staff. With the new app, employees can easily request time off, view their payslips and time off balances and enter their working hours in real‐time on their mobile device whether at home, at work or on the go. It also allows managers the ability to view and action time off requests from anywhere. Employee Timesheets in Payroll Investment in Xero Payroll continues to increase with the release of integrated employee timesheets. Timesheets allow staff to enter their own hours on their phone or the web and submit them for approval. This is a great timesaver for administrators and an easy job for staff to do on their way to work or once they have finished for the day. Not only is manual entry a drain on time, it contributes its fair share of errors. By bypassing manual, and often duplicate data entry, this eliminates typos and businesses can enjoy accurate employee times that are transferred seamlessly to payroll for payment. Xero HQ Also available from next month is Xero HQ which gives accountants and bookkeepers unprecedented visibility of their clients and work, and tools to help run their business efficiently. The new features, bring together real time notifications on all their clients into one place for the first time, so that they can streamline their workloads more efficiently and faster than before. Practice Reports & Templates In keeping with the goal of streamlining processes for small businesses and their advisers, from April 2016, Practice Reports and templates will mean accountants and bookkeepers can create practice wide templates using the features of the powerful Xero reporting framework. This will include default annual accounts templates for micro entities, self‐employed business and partnerships to further streamline the work required to create these. Xero HQ Partners Accountants and bookkeepers will be able to streamline the time taken to create final annual accounts, thanks to a new Integrations between Xero and leading annual accounts software announced today.
