Building Compounds with
Coefficients
Directions: Cut out the compound cards and the coefficient cards. Shuffle the
compounds and place them face down in one pile. Do the same with the coefficient
cards. Take the top card from each pile and use linking cubes, buttons, or draw
using colored pencils the number of molecules you need. Make sure to include a
key to show what each color represents.
Note: For the purpose of this activity it does NOT matter how you arrange your
atoms in your molecules. They just have to be represented.
