The Radio Family of Withers Broadcasting and Dana Communications has a rare opportunity to join our high school sports
broadcasting team! We are looking for the right sports enthusiast to join our company to follow the Benton
Rangers/Rangerettes for whom we provide live radio/digital coverage of sporting events.
Education level & experience:






Must have high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Experience doing sports radio or television play-by-play in the form of college radio or television broadcasting,
internship or previous job experience is highly preferred
Must have some knowledge of equipment used to broadcast such as cell phones, remote broadcast mixers, headsets,
marti equipment, or a background with similar electronic items
Awareness of rules and terminology for multiple boys and girls sports
Must have excellent people skills to interact with broadcast partners, coaches, athletic directors and listeners
Certificate or Associates Degree (or higher) in Radio & Television Broadcasting a plus, but not required
Job description and duties:




High school sports broadcasting play-by-play and/or color commentary for sports that may include, but are not limited
to, football, basketball, baseball, softball
Perform live and pre-recorded interviews with coaches
Availability to partake in other sports-related broadcasts
Ability to multi-task when needed to perform tasks such as statistic keeping, social media postings, live sponsorship

Hours & application:



This is a part-time position paid per event – Includes all Benton Ranger Football games, all Benton Rangers
Basketball games, select Benton Rangerettes Basketball games, select Benton Rangers Baseball games, select
Benton Rangerettes softball games. At least some Saturday morning sports shows will be required.
Hours will primarily be weeknights and Saturdays, though some late afternoons through the week may be required
