CHURCHVILLE SCHOOLHOUSE Immerse Students in a Living History Experience You don’t have to go far to experience … The Best Education in History Learning about local history has never been more engaging or memorable! A visit to the Churchville Schoolhouse, a National Register of Historic Places site, is an interactive experience that takes children back to the early 1900s when Elmhurst farm children attended school in this one-room structure. Students meet the schoolmarm, and learn lessons like turn-of-the-century children with McGuffey readers, slates and discipline. Spelling bees (using your current spelling list), recitation, and math facts will be included, and recess with old-fashioned games is part of the experience (time permitting).
