CASE STUDY
OXICOM was contracted to supply the Ultraviolet Systems
for swimming pools of the Alcudia Pin’s Hotel.. The
contract included the installation and commissioning of
ten medium pressure UV reactor.
Summary
Hotel Alcudia Pins is located in the north of the island
of Mallorca, between Playas de Muro and the
Albufera Nature Reserve. The hotel is on the beach
and has 598 rooms and a large lagoon swimming pool
is the centerpiece of the hotel.
Oxicom was hired to study the disinfection system of
the lagoon swimming pool that had the hotel pool.
The complexity of the system was that the filtration
plant had ten separated filters were on which we had
to act directly.
The second peculiarity is that the lagoon swimming
pool used salt water lake with what had to be
especially careful with the materials used.
It was performed a design based on a medium
pressure UV reactors that may ensure a minimum
dose of 60 mJ/cm2. Such reactors are capable to be
very
effective
against
chlorine
resistant
microorganisms with the dose designed.
It was built in 316 stainless steel with PVC flanges to
increase the durability of the equipment against
saltwater.
All equipment is provided with detection of flow and
temperature sensor in the reactor.
