Absence from school due to illness
You should all have received an email from the
school yesterday about the outbreak of a flu-like
illness in the school. We would like to thank you for
being so efficient at keeping in touch with the school–
we really appreciate your help with keeping track of
the pupils. As we said in our email yesterday, please
remind your children about the importance of regular
hand washing and provide them with tissues if they’re coughing and sneezing. If your child still has
a temperature, please do not send them into school as they may be sent home.
Please remember that we are on
an INSET day next Friday (10th),
which means that school will be
closed to pupils. It will then be
Please remember to let the office know ([email protected]) if you have changed any of your half term. We look forward to
contact details, just in case we need to ask you to come and collect your child from school during seeing all the pupils in school
again on February 20th.
the day.
Party Night
Face paints, fun games, funky dance moves and photo shoots (See images below left) were all part of the
fun and frolics of Friday night. Yet again the infant and junior discos were a huge success in spite of the
challenge of sickness and flu bugs which affected the FoTKS team and children alike. As a late Christmas
disco the new lights (which have been donated to the school) brightened up the dreary night and tuck
ensured everyone had enough energy. Musical statutes, guess the leader and silly balloon games kept
everyone on their toes, whilst the Wii and PS3 were popular chilling choices. With just 11 seniors in the
house we wondered how their event would pan out, but after a chilled start we decided to change
track by opening up the corridors and quad, killing the lights, equipping three leaders with face paints
and a mandate to splodge from the neck up……the entertainment began. The main hall was a safe zone
and the girls spent a lot of time in the loos!! But after round two and three we were all ready for a
break. Overall we think it’s been a great late Christmas 2016 disco and would like to thank everyone for
coming and helping. Takings were £312.75 although we have yet to account for tuck expenses.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2017 vouchers
Sainsbury’s have just begun handing out their Active Kids
vouchers at the checkouts. We are collecting these again,
and are looking forward to being able to choose new
equipment for the school. The collection bin for the
vouchers is currently only in the Primary foyer, but we have
ordered a second one for Secondary, which should be here
in a few weeks’ time. Please note that we can’t use vouchers
from previous years, they need to be from the current
promotion.
Thank you.
