In total across the Mediterranean, 4,022 people have lost their lives in 2016 Over 13,000 apprehensions at the Greek and Bulgarian land borders as of Nov 2016. Turkish forces in October alone apprehended 2,197 and 274 people at the Greek and Bulgarian borders respectively 748 people returned as part of EU-Turkey Refugee Deal as of early December. Local and regional news point to 10,000 returns.
