and everything in-between, the Kombi and Caravelle strike a great balance between everyday family vehicle and
luxurious executive tourer.
Enhanced intelligent design means greater safety and security and of course style too. Features like Servotronic® steering
and rain sensing windscreen wipers in the Caravelle ensure the highest levels of safety. Other driver assist technologies,
like optional tow bar-preparation including trailer stabilisation, means you’ll always be able to move provisions with ease.
The “Coming and Leaving Home” feature, standard on all Caravelles, means you’ll never be left in the dark either.
For even more style, the Caravelle is available with optional Bi-Xenon headlights with separate LED daytime running lights.
So, whether you’re driving around town or heading for the open road, getting there really is just as fun as being there.

From throw-away-the-map adventures to daily routine outings, the Kombi and Caravelle are designed to make every
journey a pleasure. Each model is underpinned by Volkswagen’s renowned German Engineering. Common Rail TDI
engines across the range feature improved unit injectors affording you supreme fuel economy and uncompromising
performance all in one package. With an engine range stretching from the 75kW 2.0 TDI Kombi, all the way to the 132kW
2.0 BiTDI Caravelle, there is an engine suited to your unique needs.
The 75kW 2.0 TDI 4-cylinder engine produces 250Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual gearbox (Kombi only). The 103kW
2.0 TDI 4-cylinder engine produces 340Nm maximum torque with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG® gearbox (Kombi
only). The compact 132kW 2.0 BiTDI 4-cylinder produces an impressive 400Nm of effortless torque with a 6-speed manual
or 7-speed DSG® or 7-speed 4Motion® DSG® gearbox (Caravelle only). Reduced fuel consumption, lower CO 2 emissions
and impressive power delivery are all hallmarks of this engine range. With 4Motion® optional on the Caravelle, you can
have the added assurance of individual wheel drive distribution. 4Motion® sends precisely the right amount of torque
wherever it’s needed. This dramatically reduces your chances of getting stuck on challenging routes and makes driving
to new, hard to reach destinations a lot safer and more enjoyable. The Kombi and Caravelle range opens up a world of
possibilities for you and your family.
Precious cargo on board.
Wherever you go in the Kombi or Caravelle, peace of mind is always the first thing you pack. From the simplest seat belt
reminder alert, to driver and passenger airbags as standard in all models, you can relax and focus more on enjoying the
journey. Front, side and curtain airbags are also standard on the Caravelle. Rear curtain airbags are optional on all Caravelle
models. Both the Kombi and Caravelle also offer ISOFIX child seat attachments, on seats in the passenger compartment to
further ensure your precious cargo is safely on board.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Brake Assist,
Traction Control System (TCS) and daytime running lights are standard across the range. The Caravelle comes with the
additional feature of speed-related power steering assist (Servotronic®), which keeps steering feel and feedback optimal
whether you’re on the highway or in the suburbs. So whether it’s the Kombi or Caravelle you choose, there’s a boutique of
features to really boost safety to new-found levels.
Room to move.
Rear Passenger Seats and Table.
The Caravelle’s innovative track system allows for all rear passenger seats to be moved back, forward or even swivel around
to face one another. With an optional multi-functional table that can be folded, swivelled or conveniently slid along the rail,
your passenger space can quite easily be transformed into a comfortable boardroom, café or games room.
Storage and Boot Space.
With deceptively compact appearance and car-like handling you’ll find that the Kombi and Caravelle are bigger than you
think (4.89m long on the short wheelbase, 5.29m on the long wheelbase and 1.9m wide). But what’s space without access?
Large dual sliding doors and variable interior layouts make everything from school runs to awkward luggage requirements
that much easier to handle.
For those times when even the kitchen sink must come too, a convenient, lockable glove compartment, door bins, cup
holders and other innovative storage compartments located around the interior provide plenty of room – 5.8m³ with the
seats removed, (6.7m³ on the long wheelbase).
Refined Features.
Front Driver and Passenger Seat.
The contoured driver’s seat with arm rest is raised to ensure all-round visibility and is also easily adjustable ensuring
optimal comfort and safety. Ergonomic passenger seats make driving an enjoyable experience, with generous amounts
of legroom, adjustable headrests and manually adjustable lumbar support for families of all sizes.
Not forgetting life’s little luxuries, the Kombi and Caravelle have catered for even the fussiest of in-laws. Air conditioning,
electric windows, remote central locking and a CD player with 8 speakers all come standard ensuring the highest levels
of comfort for all onboard. The Caravelle comes with a multi-function leather steering- wheel, multimedia socket for an
external audio source and Bluetooth cellphone preparation to keep you connected safely. The optional comfort packages
for the Kombi offer a variety of features to create an even more pleasurable journey everytime.
