R 2012 Theme: On Eagles’ Wings 23rd October 2012 2 Mentone Parade MENTONE 3194 Email: [email protected] Br Garry Coyte FSC BA, Dip Ed, Grad Dip Arts (RE), M.Ed Adm, M.Ed Leadership In recent weeks another group of students graduated from St Bede’s College after spending six years in secondary schooling. It is an important moment in their lives and the life of the College. As Principal I began my term of office with this group of young men and as such introduced them to the five Guiding Principles. Hopefully, as they begin to plan and look towards an adult world our five guiding principles will be something on which they can base their lives. They are key values which are at the heart of the way we operate as a Christian society. For these young men they are values which are not only Lasallian but also Catholic. As students of St Bede’s College they carry these guidelines with them from the moment they were baptised, the mark of the Christian baptism which is the journey of a new life built strongly around the story of the Cross. It is my desire, as these young men leave the College, that they do so with fond memories of positive relationships with staff and friends. They also leave with these five values inscribed on their hearts forever. They are values to be cherished and lived by. To the Year 12 Class of 2012, I thank you for your service to the College Community; and from the entire student and staff body, we wish these boys our best for the future. th On Thursday, 18 October the annual Art, Technology & Music Show was held at the College in the Sports Centre. This was a display of work students have done over the past 12 months in the area of art, visual communication, wood, metal, systems technology and media. Many hours of work and creative talent went into the production of such work and we congratulate the teachers and their students for the fine quality of what was produced. This year the Art Show followed a display of the fine musical talent of our students. Hopefully many families spent a little time viewing the fine work that their sons produced. At the end of this year the students who enrolled into Years 11 and 12 for 2013 will have two weeks of the ‘Flying Start’ Program. This program is compulsory for all students in these areas as they commence their senior studies for VCE. The teachers will be covering work which is part of the curriculum for that year level and subject. It will not be covered again and the purpose is to give our senior students a flying start to Years 11+12. This initiative is excellent and has my full support because it is clearly saying to the St Bede’s College students that senior work is on another level and the earlier they can commence and complete work in these two weeks, will set a positive tone for the following 12 months. Students will also have some work to complete over the long holiday period. I would ask all parents to make sure that their son is present th during these two weeks with holidays commencing after 7 December. As parents you would be aware of the extensive building program that has been undertaken over the past two years and that the new and excellent facilities have provided a wonderful modern learning environment for your son(s). The College needs to meet its responsibility for the cost of such facilities and therefore it is important that all families complete their payment of school fees which they promised at the time of their enrolment. Page 2 of 20 BUSINESS MANAGEMENT Plan Your Own Enterprise Competition The Certified Practising Accountants “Plan Your Own Enterprise Competition Prize Giving Ceremony” was held this year at CPA th Headquarters, Freshwater Place, Southbank on 13 September 2012. Four Year 11 students represented St Bede’s College in the team competition final: Joseph Callaghan, Toby Santiago, Dominic Paul, and Michael Hoskin. The competition is open to all secondary schools in Victoria. This is the second time St Bede’s College has made it to the final judging, having won in 2010. This year’s competition required students to prepare a business plan based on an innovative business idea. The boys named their business Laughing Hyena, a comedy club type concept offering a meal and entertainment. The business plan consisted of 28 pages including appendices. The plan detailed the location of the business as well as the legal and financial aspects of the proposed organisation. The boys were the only male participants in the final judging of both the team and individual sections of the competition. The announcement of the place getters saw Brunswick Secondary College (last year’s winners) third, St Bede’s College second and St Catherine’s School Toorak, first. The boys had a fun time preparing the plan and making the final. As the guest speaker at the prize giving ceremony, David Southwick, MP State Member for Caulfield, stated that making the final makes you a winner. The boys were a great credit to their Business Management teacher Ms Georgia Pavlou. Mr Sandy McKinnon – BUSINESS MANAGEMENT LEARNING AREA LEADER Camp La Salle 2012 Camp La Salle is run in many Lasallian schools around the country. In August, Year 8 students from St Bede’s College joined those from St James’ College East Bentleigh, De La Salle College Malvern and St John’s College Dandenong in Phillip Island for Camp La Salle Melbourne. The four-day event was co-ordinated by Lasallian graduates who volunteered to be leaders and mentors. The group expended lots of energy on activities including an Amazing Race around parts of the island, swimming, beach Olympics and getting to know students from the other schools. A big thank you goes to our Year 8 Co-ordinator, Ms Carmel Moloney, the homeroom teachers and Br Garry for their support, and to the Lasallian youth leaders and former students for their friendly guidance and encouragement. LLOTE News (Language Other Than English) LOTE students across all year levels have been busy throughout the year. In May, all LOTE students in Years 9 and 10 participated in the annual Language World Championships. This online language competition runs for 10 days and gives students the opportunity to test their language skills while adding a competitive edge. St Bede’s LOTE students competed against 800 other schools around the globe! Overall, St Bede’s ranked in the top 30% of all schools that participated. Well done to all students for their efforts. Congratulations to the students that were awarded certificates and a special mention must be extended to Tyler Alphonso (Year 9 French) for winning an iPod shuffle. Every year the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) holds a series of tests for language students to assess language competence. These tests are in the form of listening comprehension and/or reading comprehension. Many students attained pleasing results and several students qualified for a Certificate of Distinction. Furthermore, three of St Bede’s College LOTE students will receive a Certificate of High Distinction for their outstanding results. Those students are Jake Bignoux and Kyle Conway (both Year 8 French) and Matthew Francis (Year 10 Italian). Unit 4 LOTE students will have completed their VCE Oral Examination in these past few days. The Written Examination will be held in November, during the official VCE examination period. These examinations are a culmination of the many years of studying a language and test students’ various skills in communication. All the best to the Unit 4 LOTE students for their upcoming examinations. There are 14 Italian students in Years 9-11 that will end the school year on a very high note. These students are embarking on a fantastic 14 day journey to Italy that will allow them to experience first-hand the Italian language and culture. Students will travel to Rome, Florence and Venice with a few day trips in between. In-country tours are pertinent to language studies as they give the learner the opportunity to practise their communication skills in ways that cannot be replicated in the traditional classroom environment. The students are looking forward to visiting the many historical monuments and landmarks and, of course, savouring the many culinary delights Italy has to offer. Ms Grace Li Petri – LOTE LEARNING AREA LEADER First Aid HOLIDAY & FESTIVAL ASTHMA TRIGGER WARNING The upcoming holiday season and festivities planned during Term 4 and throughout the summer holidays may mean that your child is exposed to new triggers for his asthma. It is important for parents, carers and children themselves, to be aware of changes to their environment and the activities that may impact on their asthma. Christmas trees, both real and artificial could be triggers for people with asthma. Artificial trees may be quite dusty after being stored away, while both real and artificial trees may harbour mould. It is important to ensure that artificial trees are cleaned appropriately and that care is taken to select real trees that do not produce wind-borne pollen. All tree and other decorations should be cleaned and free from dust and mould when used at home. Scented candles, room deodorisers and air fresheners may also trigger asthma in those susceptible to perfumes and care should be taken when purchasing these and other scented items at home. Lastly, the added pressures of the year drawing to a close can cause stress and anxiety for many people, potentially triggering asthma attacks. It is important to consider ways that the whole family can enjoy the holidays and feel safe, happy and comfortable. Janise Cathcart & Anne Locco – FIRST AID OFFICERS "The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." Page 4 of 20 St Bede’s College ACC Cross Country Results th Once again this year, we had a good lead-up to the ACC Cross Country event held as usual at Bundoora Park on Wednesday 12 September. There was the House Cross Country and three Trial Runs, on the last of these, we had 85 runners. This was very encouraging and we were getting great support from the Seniors which is always a good sign. Jake Townley was our very worthy Cross Country Captain. Jake has been a great representative of the school in this sport, ever since his first place in Under 13 and he was a real leader in his final year. On the morning of the Carnival, the support was fantastic. There were only two absentees from the whole team and there were Year 12s who were sent back to class disappointed not to be running - something unheard of for many years. Our first race was competitive and then the Under 14s were looking very good when Michael Hurst was first to finish in the fabulous time of 9:43, closely followed by Matt Crowley in 4th. At this time a sprinter broke down and only at the end of the day did we hear that this strong team was second. St Bernard’s won by two points. Our Under 15 team was a good one and the boys tried hard but, for some reason, we scored only 155 points and that hurt us. The Under 16s who went into the day undefeated as an age group, came home a little disappointed as they were awarded second place. But, when the official results came out at the end of the next day, we saw they were awarded equal first place on 75 points with St Bernard’s, maintaining their undefeated record; a great achievement and one for these boys to preserve in their final two years here. Our Under 17s were a great age group and we had a number of the boys from this age group running up in the Seniors but, rd once again, we took a hit with a score of 150 points. Jake Townley did his best to set matters right with a Captain’s run for 3 place in the Senior age group. In the end, our opposition were just too good. We fielded an excellent team: our best for a number of years and yet our results were not as good. We lost again to St Bernard’s with our score of 689 putting us 221 points behind their 468. The only conclusion is that the bar is moving higher. While we are getting better, so are they — including Parade and De La Salle, once again on the rise. However, that should not detract from the tremendous team effort required to secure second place, the winning of the Junior Cup and the Under 16s maintaining their undefeated record. I want to thank all the boys involved, both runners, reserves and others who tried out; that is what made us such a strong team. The coaches were, as always, marvellous: Messrs Justin Eke, Brendan Fordham, Mark Robinson, Gerard Jackson, Paul Last, Sam Radford and Kevin Rafferty. Naturally, we are very proud of the young men who represented us in 2012 and I will conclude by reminding all our team what the St Bernard’s coach said to them: they are beatable – and we are the ones who can do it. LEGACY JUNIOR PUBLIC SPEAKING AWARD: After a strong first round effort, Matthew Slater (Year 8.3) was invited to speak in the preliminary final stage of Legacy’s Junior th Public Speaking Award on 11 September 2012. A small support base travelled to the Dandenong RSL to support Matt as he presented a newly created speech on “Homelessness” and also two impromptu speeches for this state-wide competition. Matt was rewarded for his diligent work and excellent presentation style by being named one of the winners from this final, and therefore received an invitation to speak in the Victorian Grand Final of this competition, to be held at the Iwaki Auditorium in the ABC Centre, th Southbank on Friday 19 October. All the best to Matt as he prepares to compete in this prestigious event! BR QUENTIN O’HALLORAN PUBLIC SPEAKING EVENING: The quality of our own College competitions has been phenomenal this year. Not only did our year level speak-offs from Years 7-10 reveal a depth of public speaking talent, but our own Br Quentin O’Halloran Public Speaking evening was of the highest quality. Our th twelve best speakers from across the year levels took part in this annual evening, held on Tuesday 11 September 2012 in the Auditorium. The following boys are to be congratulated on their fine public speaking efforts as they thoroughly impressed the audience present on the night: Year 7: Jackson Lee & Lachlan Burke Year 8: Sam Preston & Stan Mavroudis Year 9: Nic Cunningham & Matthew Mottola Year 10: Year 11: Year 12: Sean Hollis & Pat Hurst Chris Davie-Smythe & Nicholas Sharp Josh Childs & Patrick Dobson The winners from this evening were: Overall Winner Year level Winners Year 7: Year 8: Year 9: Year 10: Year 11: Year 12: Jackson Lee Stan Mavroudis Matthew Mottola Sean Hollis Chris Davie-Smythe Patrick Dobson Division Winners Junior: Intermediate: Senior: Jackson Lee Sean Hollis Patrick Dobson whose name will be engraved on the Br Quentin O’Halloran Public Speaking shield for 2012 Patrick Dobson Special thanks to our College Arts Captain Patrick Collins for hosting this evening in his usual entertaining style! We were also privileged to have the expertise of Michael Buck (2011’s College Dux and former College Public Speaking Captain) and Peter Wintle (ex-staff member and House Co-ordinator) to co-adjudicate this competition, and we are grateful for them kindly donating their time to help out. "The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." Page 7 of 20 LASALLIAN PUBLIC SPEAKING CHALLENGE: From this, the above-mentioned six year level winners continued on to represent St Bede’s College in fine style at the Lasallian th Public Speaking Competition, held this year at St James College (East Bentleigh) on Monday 17 September. These students competed against the best public speakers from De La Salle and St James’ Colleges. It was a very successful night – FIVE out of our SIX public speakers won their year level sections: Stan Mavroudis (Year 8), Matthew Mottola (Year 9), Sean Hollis (Year 10), Chris Davie-Smythe (Year 11) and Patrick Dobson (Year 12). Jackson Lee (Year 7) was also outstanding in his section. We are also pleased to announce that for the second year in a row, we had the best overall public speaker: PATRICK DOBSON. All six speakers were extremely polished in presenting both their prepared and impromptu speeches and are to be congratulated on their efforts and achievements. ROTARY’S “FOUR-WAY TEST” PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION: Sean Hollis complemented his excellent work in the school competitions with a stellar effort in the first-round heat of Rotary District 9810’s “Four-Way Test” Public Speaking Competition for Year 10 students. Consequently, he was invited back to participate in the th semi-final round for this competition, which will be held on the evening of Wednesday 17 October. Congratulations to Sean on this feat and hopefully he can progress even further in this competition. Public Speaking 2012 LEGACY JUNIOR STATE FINAL th On Friday 19 October, a group of Year 7-9 students attended the 2012 Legacy Junior Public Award’s State Final, in support of Matthew Slater (Year 8.3) who earned his place in this final stage of the competition. Matt, and the other eleven contestants from around Victoria, presented a prepared speech of their choice and on this occasion, Matt selected to present his Preliminary Final speech on “Homelessness” again for this section and spoke extremely confidently in doing so. For the impromptu section, all competitors were given five minutes to speak on the set topic of “Expectations”, and Matt’s two-minute short-notice speech was of an extremely high standard, impressing the audience with his public speaking creativity and flair. While he narrowly missed out on securing a place in the National Finals, he received the only other award presented – an “honourable mention” – in recognition of his outstanding efforts on the day. Congratulations to Matt on his achievement in this competition – a fine example of the public speaking talent at St Bede’s College! Robyn Kensley – PUBLIC SPEAKING It is hard to believe that another school year is rapidly drawing to an end. The Year 12 Class of 2012 are on the cusp of finishing their secondary education and now move into revision mode in preparation for their VCE exams starting next week. The Year 12s have been involved in a number of farewell ceremonies. A whole school assembly and the House farewells nd took place on Monday 22 October, while the Valete Mass and rd Dinner was celebrated on Tuesday 23 October. These festivities, coupled with warmer weather and a sense of new-found freedom that comes with recently turning 18, will present a real challenge to some of the boys to remain focussed on their studies. While they are encouraged to enjoy themselves it must also be remembered that the approaching exams, (which are arguably the most significant part of the VCE) are still ahead of them. In other news, the Public Speaking Program and competitions have been finalised in the last few weeks. "The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." Page 8 of 20 Congratulations to Christopher Davie-Smythe (Year 11) who represented his year level in the Brother Quentin O’Halloran ‘Speakoffs’ and then went on the next level of competition which is contested between speakers from other De La Salle Colleges in Melbourne. We have also welcomed back Jarrad Campbell who has recently returned from a successful kayaking competition in Europe. As one year ends we begin preparations for the next and subsequently we are currently in the process of selecting our student leaders for 2013. We wish Caleb Bainbridge, Jarrad Campbell, Thomas Eagling, Michael Fiore, Michael Hoskin and Richard Ryan the best of luck during their election campaigns. Congratulations also to Kate Ginnivan and the boys in Tutor Group 24. They have won the McCristal House Tutor Group Competition this year. Tutor Group 24 contains a good mix of capable students and talented sportsmen who have secured this win on the back of solid participation in the many extracurricular activities offered at the College. Finally, on behalf of the McCristal Tutors, I would to thank our House Leaders, Adam Capiron, Tom Tyquin and James Dalzotto for their contributions this year. They have done a fantastic job and have been wonderful role models throughout the year. We wish them and all our Year 12 students a safe, happy and prosperous future. Page 9 of 20 Year 9 Social Term 3 came to a thrilling climax with the premier social event of 2012, the Year 9 Social. The boys looked resplendent in their varied interpretations of ‘smart casual attire’. Suits, ties, hats and pinstripes prevailed. Apart from the unscheduled evacuation mid-way through the evening, the night went very smoothly. A highlight was ‘Gangnam Style’ which lured all 400 students to the dance floor! I would like to commend the boys on their exemplary and gentlemanly behaviour. Above all else the boys had fun. Thanks to Kilbreda for hosting the event and also to the staff who attended. The most significant part of the Year 9 Survival Camp at Lake Eildon is the overnight hike which has been extended in recent years due to the increased water level of Lake Eildon. For the very active the hike is a genuine challenge. For the less active the hike becomes a mental and physical challenge that, at times, seems insurmountable. Congratulations to all boys for showing such courage and teamwork on the recent camps, dealing with extremes of weather and mood to make the camp such a success. Thanks to Mr Darren Strom, Mr Gavin Browne, the homeroom teachers, and the outdoor education staff for running such spectacular camps. Can I please remind all parents that winter uniform is to be worn from th Monday 29 October. This means that long shirts need to be worn with long th pants. From 29 October, boys are welcome to wear the summer uniform. From then, irrespective of whether the winter or summer uniform is worn, the school policy is that all students wear a sun smart hat at recess, lunch and for other outside activities. The St Bede’s hat is a wide brimmed hat that satisfies SunSmart Guidelines. The exam period will run from Tuesday th nd 20 November until Thursday 22 November in week 7 of the term. Boys will have exams for their core subjects during this period. "The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." Page 10 of 20 Geoff Harrison – YEAR 9 CO-ORDINATOR Student Achievements Brendan Ung – Tai Kwon Do Congratulations to Brendan Ung of Year 9.5 who won the Tae Kwon Do National Championship last month. Brendan was competing in London in December for the Under 15 World Championships. Student Achievements Jarrad Campbell – Kayaking Jarrad Campbell has been selected for the “Junior Olympic Hopes Team”. Jarrad started off in Surf Lifesaving and in the College March newsletter, we reported that he had won 7 medals at the State Lifesaving Championships, 4 of which were gold. Jarrad then turned his talent to Kayaking and he quickly took to this sport and made it to the National Kayaking Championships in Penrith NSW. This event determines the make-up of the Australian Olympic Kayaking Team. Jarrad was then selected as a member of the “Australian Junior Sprint Kayak Team” which competed in Hungary in September this year. In Hungary th th at the 1,000 metre event, he came 6 in the final and in the 200 metres, he came 9 in the final, with all teams in the 200m final finishing within 1.5 seconds of each other. This year’s Australian Olympic Hope Team achieved the best result ever and made more finals than any previous Australian Olympic Hope Team. Jarrad loved the experience gained from training with Olympic coaches, friendships made with international and interstate competitors and competing against the best kayakers in the world at an international competition. AIM: From these experiences Jarrad has set the bar very high. He hopes to improve as a kayaker and continually produce personal best times. He hopes to qualify for the Youth Olympic Festival and make the Australian Junior Olympic Team in Sydney in January 2013. He hopes to make individual finals in all distances at the National Championships in Perth in April 2013 and qualify for the 2013 U18 World Championships Team – competing in Canada in August 2013. Jarrad also hopes to further develop friendships with his Australian teammates at the interstate kayak competitions. Here we share Jarrad’s hopes and dreams and all at St Bede’s College wish Jarrad all the very best in realising those aspirations. Craig will be assisted this season by last year’s skipper Tony White as Development Coach and stalwart Peter Robinson as Assistant Coach. All three have attained at least Community Coach Accreditation. Craig has identified a number of local junior players that are capable of making their way into the Club’s first XI, by layers that have been developing over the years as juniors at the club or through school cricket. Some of these players have been attending training as part of the Club’s Junior Development Squad during the pre-season. New Website: The Club has a new website that can be found at:-http://kingstonsaints.vic.cricket.com.au/ Player Changes: There has been movement in our playing group this season with the two Papua New Guinea players Jack Vare and Joel Tom, not being released to Melbourne this coming season, but they are playing with teams on the Gold Coast where their new coach resides. Tom won the club’s bowling average last season and Vare was more than serviceable behind the stumps. The club will be without the services of Brett Hampton and Aaron Fenton for part of the season as Brett gets married early in the season and Aaron pursues employment interstate. Lee Dale (UK), who made 347 runs last season is returning this season and is bringing a mate, Dale Pennington (a keeper batsman). Both played with Glossop Cricket Club in the Lancashire League. Again this year the Club will use two players from developing countries as part of an official developing nation program supported by Cricket Australia and the ICC. These players are Patrick Matautaava and Kenny Tari from Vanuatu. Matautaava is a 22 year old fast bowler who opens the bowling and is a sound middle order bat. Tari is a 20 year old medium pace bowler. Both will be joining the Saints for the duration of the season. Interested Players: The Club is commencing trials on Sunday mornings for aspiring Under 15 Turf Cricketers for our RM Hatch Squad. Trials are over the next few weeks (2nd, 9th, 16th September) between 10:00am and 12:30pm. The RM Hatch Competition runs in early January. Any player interested can contact Mick McCoy 0419 128 225. Parents, students and friends were therefore able to enjoy the diversity of the arts that are available to the boys. The Music Concert was truly a whole school event with boys from all year levels being featured. The large ensembles such as the Training and Junior Concert Bands, along with the College Big Band, were contrasted with solo and group performances from our VCE Music performance students. Another feature of the program was the diversity of genres that were presented through the fourteen items. We heard pieces from Bach through to ballads such as the Sounds Of Silence and contemporary Rap. John Russo (left without guitar) and Zhaun Woodard - Year 12 Music Performance students I would like to congratulate all performers on not only the polished standard of their presentations but also their stage presence and communication with the audience. I would also like to acknowledge the contribution made by the instrumental teachers at the College along with Mr Walter Saluni, Ms Laura McCormick and Mr Cameron Fellowes for their support in staging the performance. The VET Music Industry students also did a terrific job in managing the sound, lighting and stage management. Mr Neil Hambly – DIRECTOR OF MUSIC "The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." Page 14 of 20 2012 Art, Technology & Music Show – VISUAL ART th On the night of Thursday 18 October, St Bede’s College, combined the student Art & Technology Show with the Annual Music Concert to great acclaim. Opened by Carla Edgerton (Art Teacher and Professional Artist), it was an opportunity to learn how, with some persistence and imagination, that we all have potential to forge an amazing career from our skills. She inspired the audience with her enthusiasm and love of art. Displayed in the new Sports Complex was an array of 2D and 3D Art, Technology and a Media Show, casing the spectacular achievements of our boys’ talents throughout the year. Unique and individual drawings, paintings and etchings to creative 3D ceramics and art were all on display indicating skills, creativity, individual responses to an idea and vision and life in general. Along with art were skilled, precise, technical drawings and detailed computer designs from the Visual Communication and Design Department. The Technology and Design Department (see pages 16 & 17), along with Systems Engineering, added a fresh dimension to the displays along with some thought provoking media concepts. Well attended by over 300 people, the night had colour, creativity and conversation added with great food and refreshments. On behalf of my department I thank everyone involved and for those who attended, particularly the boys. Without their contribution the show would never be possible. Special mention to the College Parents and Friends Association and Malcolms Real Estate for their very generous contributions to the awards and assisting on all levels to make this Art Show possible. Page 15 of 20 2012 Art, Technology & Music Show - TECHNOLOGY The evening was an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their projects. For Unit 3 and 4 Technology students the evening represented many hours of folio work and toil in the workshop. It is probably true to say that the product each student made contains a little of their heart and soul. It is little wonder then that, on the evening, no student rose to the generous monetary offers to part with their product. It was also pleasing to see the high quality of work from Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students. We thank the P & F Association for their generosity in awarding two excellence awards, in both Product Design and Technology (Jordan Baker and Aaron MacDonald and a special commendation to Thomas Busuttil) and in Systems Engineering (Joseph Considine and Rene Santander). Page 17 of 20 Oliver Report 2012 marks the first year St Bede’s College has presented, in collaboration with students from Kilbreda College and Mentone Girls’ Grammar School, a musical performance in our new Performing Arts Auditorium, which was Lionel Bart’s interpretation of Charles Dickens’ “Oliver”. I am very happy to report that the season was a great success with the biggest audience for a College production attending our shows over the four performances. This success is due entirely to the talented students from all three schools and the dedicated staff from St Bede’s College who st worked non-stop from early February this year until the closing night performance on 1 September and beyond to ensure the best possible show for our school communities.
