Introduced in 1997, CranioFix® has been the pioneer for clamp-based bone flap fixation
and has become the preferred system.
Today CranioFix®2 is a standard worldwide and a synonym for clamp-based systems for
the fixation of bone flaps and bone fragments.

Aesculap® CranioFix® absorbable
Absorbable clamp system for an unhindered skull growth, instrument-free
CranioFix® absorbable is a double-sided, fast and easy clamp based system for the
fixation of bone flaps. It can be used without any instruments.
CranioFix® absorbable enables an unhindered skull growth after resorption and is
therefore applicable especially for pediatric surgeries.

CranioFix® absorbable is made from the clinically proven
absorbable polyester material [Poly (L-lactide-co-D,
L-Lactide) 70:30]. Our in-vitro study has shown that
CranioFix absorbable retains approximately 90 % of its
initial strength after 12 weeks. The absorbable material
completely disappears within 2-3 years.
