Precision Feeding
To produce the best yields and highest quality, your crops
need all of the essential plant nutrients. Even if adequate
amounts of the primary nutrients — nitrogen, phosphorous
and potassium — are available, a shortage of one or more
secondary or micronutrient will limit yields and reduce the
quality of your crop.
nearly identical amounts of all the ingredients. Granules are
uniform in size, shape and weight, so the fertilizer spreads
evenly. Whether you broadcast or apply it in-row, every plant
across the field will have the necessary nutrients available
when it’s needed most.
Rainbow Plant Food is a homogenous, granular fertilizer.
Precise amounts of each nutrient – primary and secondary —
as well as micronutrients, are chemically compounded to form
a homogenous mixture. As a result, each granule contains
Balanced Nutrition
Not only does Rainbow Plant Food include adequate
amounts of all essential nutrients, it provides them
in the most efficient form for use by the crop.

BENEFITS OF MICRONUTRIENTS
MICRONUTRIENT
ROLE IN A PLANT
DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS
BORON
B is essential for sugar transport through cell membranes, cell
division and development, plant utilization of N and P, synthesis of
protein and nucleic acids, flowering and reproduction, germination
of pollen grains, and seed production.
Visible symptoms are not common. Boron is immobile in plants, so
symptoms appear on new growth. Visual symptoms are uncommon,
but include poor fertilization and seed or fruit set, poor growth or
death of terminal buds, and shortened internodes. Leaves and stems
may thicken and become brittle. Forages may have reddish or bronze
discoloration or yellow mottlings.
MANGANESE
Essential in protein synthesis. Required for nitrate assimilation and reduction. Activates several enzyme systems. Important in electron transport in
photosynthesis.
Most common in soils with high pH or organic matter. As an immobile nutrient,
symptoms appear first on new leaves. In cereals, the new leaves become
chlorotic creating a striped leaf effect. Gray specks may occur in cereals.
Broadleaf crops show some mottling or interveinal chlorosis similar to iron
deficiency. May be toxic in strongly acid soils.
SULFUR
S is a component of the two amino acids that make up plant proteins. Legumes have high levels of sulfur containing protein
Symptoms usually begin in new growth because sulfur is not easily
translocated in the plant. Symptoms include general chlorosis of
leaves, stunted growth, and low seed yields.
MANGNESIUM
Photosynthesis – magnesium is the central element of the
chlorophyll molecule. It is the carrier of phosphate in the plant.
Both an enzyme activator and constituent of many enzymes: sugar
synthesis, starch translocation, plant oil and fat formation, nutrient
uptake control, increase iron utilization. Aids nitrogen fixation in
legume nodules.
Soils inherently low in or high in magnesium containing minerals.
Low soil pH decreases magnesium availability and high soil pH
increases availability. Soil Mg:Mn ratio – high available Manganese
can reduce Magnesium uptake. Soil CEC – low CEC soils have less
Magnesium. Cation competition – soils with high Potash or Calcium
will typically provide less Magnesium to the crop. High cation
applications – high application rates of other cations, especially
Potash, can reduce Magnesium uptake. Low soil temperatures
Rainbow Technology Is Better
Step 1
Primary, Micro and Macro Nutrients:
Essential nutrients needed for
crop growth start in various
shapes and sizes.
Step 2
Ammoniated Blending:
Essential nutrients are blended together with
targeted grade specifications through an
ammoniated process.
Step 3
Homogenous Granule:
Composed of all essential crop nutrients set to
specific grades for top crop performance that
provides even distribution of nutrition for crops.
You Can See the Difference
Ammoniated Advantage
Because the nutrients in a blend are only mixed
together physically they can segregate during
transportation, handling and application, resulting
in uneven distribution in the field. With ammoniated
fertilizer this distribution breakdown is not possible
because the nutrients are chemically combined which
results in a consistent application for your crops.
