Issue 22 21st April 2017 Welcome back! We are really looking forward to an exciting Summer term. Year 2 has started their ‘Awesome Art’ topic and are looking forward to a trip to the National Gallery next week, Year 1 is doing lots of planting (look in the playground) as part of their topic on ‘Plants and Artists’ and Reception are looking at dinosaurs, with the Matrix Theatre and their interactive workshops. Look out for next week’s newsletter! St. George’s Day & Shakepeare’s Birthday—April 23rd This Sunday it is Saint George’s Day— we dressed in red and white to celebrate. It is also Shakespeare’s birthday (April 23rd 1564). Just before the Easter holiday, during Shakespeare week, we all looked at ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and produced displays, artwork, costumes and creative writing. It was a wonderful introduction to the work of one of our greatest playwrights and poets. You must have a valid DBS certificate. Please ensure you child comes to school with their swimming kits, this must include a swim hat. CHIPTA meeting— Tuesday 25 April, 7.30pm. All parents are welcome to attend. Open Door Policy Here at Coombe Hill Infants’ we operate an Open Door policy and we like to deal with any matters which arise as soon as we can. Please talk to your class teacher or teaching assistant. If you need to discuss anything with the senior management team please call the office or pop in first, we will try to see you as soon as possible. Sainsbury’s Active Vouchers The Sainsbury’s voucher scheme has started and runs until June. Last year we used the vouchers for sports equipment. Please donate your vouchers – there is a collection box in reception. Please return all medicines to school that were sent home at Easter. We cannot administer medications that are not in school!
