Harvest Market runs from 9AM until 4PM on Saturday and from 10:30-4:00 on Sunday, with a special worship service on Sunday morning at 9:30. The parade kicks things off at 9AM on Saturday. After that, there are many great events and activities especially for kids, including: OLD-FASHIONED GAMES When: all day Saturday and Sunday Come to the Children’s games area near the parking lot to try your hand with old fashioned games such as penny pitch, bean bag toss, stilts, stick and hoop, old fashioned bowling, giant checkers, hammer drive, strikers, a greased pole climb, and the dunking booth. BOUNCE HOUSE When: all day Saturday and Sunday ORGANIZED GAMES When: 1-3 on both Saturday and Sunday In addition to the games, there are some fun races that will be held from 1-3 on both days. Stop by to join in on the 4 way tug of war, sack races, and 3 legged races. SAW DUST CANDY SCRAMBLE When: 3:00 on both Saturday and Sunday This popular fast-paced event is broken down into the following groups to make sure all ages have a fair shot at finding plenty of pieces of candy in the big sawdust pile: preschool & 1st grade; 2nd & 3rd grade; 4th & 5th grade; 6th & 7th grade; and 8th grade plus anyone who missed their slot. HAY RIDES When: 11-4 PM Saturday and Sunday Where: Big field behind the crafters and the Children’s Games area After all that running around, come take a break and enjoy a hay ride in a wagon pulled by a big tractor. A great rest for all ages! ZUCCHINI DECORATING CONTEST When: all day Saturday; Sunday until 1:30 Let your imagination fly! Kids (and adults too) are encouraged to decorate a zucchini – either store bought or home grown. Use other veggies, paint, glitter, whatever! We encourage you to decorate a zucchini at home and bring it to Harvest Market, but zucchinis may also be available to decorate “on the spot” at Harvest Market. Entries will be accepted all day Saturday and Sunday until 1:30. All entries win an award. (There are also competitions for the longest and the heaviest home-grown zucchinis, so bring those entries as well!) CHILDREN’S PET SHOW When: Noon on Sunday Children under 12 are encouraged to bring their favorite pet to show off – all entries receive a prize. All of the above activities are FREE and are held in the Children’s Games area unless otherwise noted. Parking hints: the closest parking is in the field behind Harvest Market. The entrance is right near the fire station on Route 15; cost is $3, proceeds support MMU soccer. Free parking is available at Mills Riverside Park and at Browns River Middle school; a free shuttle to and from both to Harvest Market runs both days. Check underhillharvestmarket.com for additional details, including a full schedule and map. We hope to see you there!
