City Clerk
Request Title: GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY S
Request #:
Description:
This request is for software to provide Government Transparency with video streaming &
hardware, minute making efficiency, and agenda packet automation. This provides an
automated workflow for agenda preparation that is cloud based web application and can be
utilized by all departments and agenda creators with Boards and Commission.
The video streaming will allow residents easier access to view agendas, meeting videos and
minutes.
It will save departments and volunteers time in preparing, distributing, and posting agendas.
Justification:
This item was approved in the 2015 Budget, but the funds have been reallocated so this
request is resubmitted.
Laserfiche (LF) is no longer developing the agenda management (AM) software that we are
currently using, and we have been experiencing problems. Eventually LF will no longer
support the software as well. Currently the agenda management software is designed to
work with Microsoft Office 2007 suite. As the City upgrades the Microsoft Office suites, the
AM software becomes harder to ensure that it functions as designed. Additionally, the LF
AM application will only run from the City network, meaning the outlying entities and
volunteers who are not connected to our network are unable to see the application.

Request Title: Crossing Guard at N. Bird &
Request #:
Description:
Add a crossing guard at the intersection of N. Bird St. and Stonehaven Dr., beginning at the
start of the 2016-17 school year. This initiative will require only half a year of funding
because only half of the 2016-17 school year falls in 2016
Justification:
This intersection is located near Peace Lutheran School and Bird Elementary School.
There will be increased traffic on N. Bird St. and Stonehaven Dr. as a result of the Hake 5
development and the continuing development of the Liberty Square subdivision. A crossing
guard at this location might not be feasible unless and until there is a four-way stop at this
intersection. A referral regarding making a four-way stop at this intersection was requested
at a recent Public Works Committee meeting. N. Bird St. is a minor arterial street, and
Stonehaven Dr. is a collector street.
