Mid-Year Report15-16 State of the District Update on SLUSD Strategic Action Plan Mike McLaughlin, Ed. D. Superintendent SLUSD BOARD OF EDUCATION AND SUPERINTENDENT VINCE J. ROSATO PRESIDENT LANCE JAMES VICE PRESIDENT LEO SHERIDAN CLERK RON CAREY MEMBER EVELYN GONZALEZ MEMBER DIANA J. PROLA MEMBER MONIQUE M. TATE MEMBER MIKE MCLAUGHLIN, Ed.D. SUPERINTENDENT Dear San Leandro Community, We are halfway through the 2015-16 school year and once again pleased to share with you our mid-year progress. The highlights contained within the next few pages would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the San Leandro Unified School District staff. When I look at what we’ve accomplished so far, I see how we are putting our students first: higher salaries for staff means that we can attract and keep the best staff, additional courses means our students have better options and are more prepared, and a newly opened health and wellness center means that we are focusing on the overall well-being of our students and our schools. As this is the third year of our three year strategic plan, it is important to note that we are on track to meet not only our year three goals but also the goals of the overall three year plan. At the end of the 2015-16 school year we will update you on final progress and also unveil new strategic goals for the next three years. Do not hesitate to contact me with questions or if you would like additional information on what is contained in this report. Sincerely, Mike McLaughlin, Ed.D.
