Reliable Detection of TB-specific Antibodies
The health of your nonhuman primate (NHP) colony is critical to the
validity of your studies, as well as protecting your valuable research
investment and their human caretakers. Routine screening for
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) relies on the eyelid tuberculin test,
the only approved method for NHPs. The overall lack of sensitivity
and specificity of this test has lead to a need for additional
screening methods.
Intuitive Bioscience’s TB ELISA is a simple but high-throughput
screening method with highly accurate results. Within 3 hours, up
to 96 animals can be screened for the presence of antibodies to
TB-specific antigens. The test is easy to perform, uses standard lab
equipment, can be completed on the same day, and is a noninvasive
method. This means even animals on a study can undergo TB
screening with a simple blood draw.
