Math: Understand division as an unknown-factor problem Vocabulary: array factor times multiplication multiply equal groups product repeated addition partition divisor quotient dividend fact family unknown factor Social Studies Language/Grammar: For words ending in ff - you just add the s to make the word plural: cliff-cliffs Most often, words ending in f or fe, change the f or fe to ves: calf-calves, knife-knives Writing Focus: Form and Use Regular and Irregular Plural Nouns Writing a Personal Narrative some singular nouns can be changed to a plural noun when adding -s or -es to the end of a word. a singular noun ending with -s, -ch, -sh, -x, or -z add -es to make it plural. (witness to witnesses, church to churches, dish to dishes, box to boxes, buzz to buzzes) some singular nouns ending with -y and is preceded with a consonant, the -y changes to an -i and the plural -es is added (army to armies, sky to skies). some singular nouns that ends in -y which is preceded by a vowel becomes -ys for the plural form (bay to bays, boy to boys, delay to delays). A Personal Narrative is the recounting of a memory or event in sequential order.
