Holiday and Time
Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday 6 p.m. the Friday before the holiday to
Monday at 7 p.m., or until the holiday is over if it extends for a lengthier period.
President’s Day 6 p.m. the Friday before the holiday to Monday at 7 p.m., or
until the holiday is over if it extends for a lengthier period.
Spring Break 6 p.m. on the day school lets out to 7 p.m. on the Sunday before
school resumes.
Memorial Day 6 p.m. the Friday before the holiday to Monday at 7 p.m., or
until the holiday is over if it extends for a lengthier period.
July 4th 6 p.m. the day before the holiday to 6 p.m. the day after the holiday.
July 24th 6 p.m. the day before the holiday to 6 p.m. the day after the holiday.
Labor Day 6 p.m. the Friday before the holiday to Monday at 7 p.m., or until the
holiday is over if it extends for a lengthier period.
Columbus Day 6 p.m. the day before the holiday to 7 p.m. on the holiday.
U.E.A. Weekend (Fall School Break) 6 p.m. on Wednesday to Sunday at 7
p.m., or until the holiday is over if it extends for a lengthier period.
Halloween holiday after school, or at 4 p.m. if school is not in session, to 9 p.m.
Veteran’s Day 6 p.m. the day before the holiday to 7 p.m. the day of the
holiday.
Thanksgiving 7 p.m. Wednesday to 7 p.m. Sunday.
First Half of Christmas Vacation, including Christmas Eve and Christmas
Day. Beginning after school the day school lets out until 1 p.m. on the day
halfway through the break (if there’s an odd number of days in the break), or 7
p.m. on the day halfway through the break (if there’s an even number of days).
Second Half of Christmas Vacation. Beginning at 1 p.m. on the day halfway
through the break (if there’s an odd number of days in the break), or 7 p.m. (if
there’s an even number); ending the evening before school resumes.
Mother’s Day 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. the day of the holiday.
Father’s Day 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. the day of the holiday.
The day before or after the child’s birthday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. May take
other siblings along.
The child’s actual birthday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. May take other siblings
along.
Children younger than 9 months old: only 2 hours on the holidays, preferably in the custodial
home, the established child care setting, or another environment familiar to the child.
Children between 9 months and 18 months old: only 8 hours on the holidays.
