mouth. A few chips and rough edges.

Together with a Jalisco seated figured with arms crossed, holding hands
to neck, in a trance like state. Two peyote buds decorate the headdress.

Two different pottery tripod bowls including a highly decorated example,
intricately painted on the exterior with semi-abstract birds, probably
vultures or eagles on both sides of the legs and bowl. Poorly repaired
from five large original pieces and one large piece not original to the bowl,
breaklines visible and some leg chips. Together with an example having
low relief geometric decoration in the interior base of the bowl, exterior
painted with a wide band of geometric decoration. A few very minor edge
chips, otherwise intact.

A carved blue-green jade seated monkey holding a fruit with both hands.
Drilled perforation through the neck, long curled tail with a double

Painted brown geometric decoration on a cream ground. Both rear legs reattached
with breaklines visible, several rim chips, paint loss. Together with a large Ica

Including miniature amber glass bulbous-bodied bottle with four applied disc
elements on the body and disc foot with a large pontil mark. Intact. Together
with a medium yellow-green glass disc-bodied flask having a long slightly
tapered neck. Intact. A clear yellow cut glass vial, with four cut legs and
alternating triangular panel cut body. A large piece reattached in the body
and some losses to all four legs. Finally, a clear glass vial with geometric
decoration to the body. Heavily weathered surface and chips to the foot
and neck.

Six different small glass vessels including four blown glass examples, three
with bulbous bodies, one having four applied discs around the body and
one has a vertical rib body pattern. The light yellow glass example has a
tapered body and thick rolled lip, intact. Together with a small blue-green
glass candle stick unguent bottle, intact. Finally, two different light clearyellow glass vials, one with a six paneled body, the other with a tear drop
shape body, both are intact. All with various degrees of iridescence surface
patina and scattered encrustation.

from five original pieces with breaklines visible. Stippled decorative bands on the well.
Overall scattered surface encrustation. Together with a Tang Dynasty glazed chest, having
substantial wear to the glazed surface and edge chips. A green and straw glazed covered
throne with perforated side windows, with black painted details. Replaced plume finial. A
few minor surface flakes and some paint wear, otherwise intact. Finally, a green and straw
glazed pottery pedestal bowl. A 2” restored rim chip on the bowl, otherwise intact.

513. Shaman’s Instruments
Nepal.

Largest is a dhyangro, or shamans
drum handle with four faces around
the cylindrical top, eternity knots and
a vajra carved in the grip, and below
is a makara or a chimera head with a
three-sided dagger emerging below.
The tip of the blade and the grip
also bear iron strips and covering.
Dark brown encrusted patina, shows
good age. Together with a phurba,
or a shaman’s exorcism dagger
carved with an elephant finial. Both
are talismanic instruments used by a
shaman.

base. Lacks fine detail, but is still an
