OxbowNow let’s draw a picture of Lake Chicot.
You will need a:
ruler, pencil and a sheet of paper
Use the ruler to measure 1 inch on your paper. Use your pencil to mark the inch. You are going to measure four
more inches (one at a time) and mark them so that the marks create an oxbow (or U) shape. When you are finished measuring, take a pencil and connect all of your marks so that they create a “fat U.”
Color in the lake and add pictures of the wildlife you might find at Lake Chicot State Park.
Oxbow- a bow-shaped lake formed in a former channel of a river.
