Rev. Kojo Nantambu is President of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg NAACP in North Carolina. In addition, he is the Director
of Religious Education Advocacy Project (R.E.A.P.) of the North Carolina State NAACP. President Nantambu is a
dedicated, passionate, diligent civil rights leader and activist who actively works to execute the mission of the NAACP.
Rev. Nantambu promotes issues, programs, rallies, marches and community involvement for the NAACP. He encourages
churches across North Carolina to become involved in the NAACP and their communities as they did during the civil
rights movement. President Nantambu is invited and travels across the state to church conferences of all denominations
which include AME, AME Zion, CME, Baptist, United Methodist, Universalist Unitarian Church and successfully attains
their active participation in and with the NAACP. Through the Call to Action 1000: 100%, over 850 churches, temples,
and mosques have signed up to be involved, as well as many civic organizations, sororities, and fraternities. He stands his
ground for inequality and injustice and has organized protests against the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board in the
closing of the majority of inner city schools as well as participating in the Moral Monday protests at the North Carolina
General Assembly.

President Nantambu has been a morale booster for the NAACP. He answers the call and passionately takes the lead with
his energetic chants from the North Carolina State Conference to the NAACP Charlotte-Mecklenburg branch meetings.
He is a civil rights leader who humbly and willingly serves others. Rev. Kojo believes and reminds his congregation
weekly, “Everyday before the sun goes down, always be a blessing to others, the same way God has been a blessing to
you.”

In addition to being in the forefront of civil rights, President Kojo Nantambu serves as a known community leader,
organizer and a highly requested motivational speaker:
 In Wilmington, NC, he mobilized a citywide weekend worship service and celebration to present pardon of
innocence documents to the Wilmington 10 activists.
 Keynote Speaker in Wilmington, NC. at the New Hanover County NAACP Martin Luther King Program.
 Speaker at the men's conference at Bethel AME Church in Currie, NC, where he addressed voting rights and the
Bloody Sunday March.
 President Nantambu organized a rally and press conference at Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC
for the "Freedom Riders" as they traveled through the south.
 Attended the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg
 Awards 2013 Brunch.
