GENERAL RULES
1. All exhibitors who wish to compete in the Champions Tribute Showback must be eligible to
show at the 2017 OYE, following the guidelines set forth for the 2017 OYE.
2. Exhibitors are not allowed to purchase an animal from their family members. For example, if
your family raises show goats and plan to sell in the Champions Tribute, and you have a child
who would like to show in the Champions Tribute, that child would have to purchase their
animal from a different consignor, not from your family's operation.
1. All animals entered in the Champions Tribute Showback must have been purchased from the
2016 OYE Champions Tribute Sale and have the OYE issued Champions Tribute tag. If the
animal no longer has the Champions Tribute tag it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to contact the
showback superintendent so the proper tag can be reissued. Final ownership must be declared by
nomination time.
2. Lambs or goats without an OYE Champions Tribute issued tag will not be permitted to
compete in the Champions Tribute Showback.
3. Lambs or goats purchased as an “alley trade” will not be permitted to compete in the
Champions Tribute Showback.
4. Champions Tribute animals must be nominated via the mail-in, self nomination process. The
nomination deadline is November 3, 2016. Please visit the OYE website www.okyouthexpo.com
for further instructions.
5. Champions Tribute Showback exhibitors must enter their animals online by February 17,
2017. Late entries will be assessed additional fees and will be accepted through February 26,
2017. Please visit the OYE website www.okyouthexpo.com for further instructions.
6. There is no additional entry fee required to compete in the Champions Tribute Showback,
however the animals must have been included in the online entry process thus paying the $20
entry fee for the Farm Credit Market Wether Goat Show or the Moorman's ShowTec Market
Wether Lamb Show. All Champions Tribute animals must enter in the general OYE breed
shows, however only the Grand Champion "Champions Tribute" goat and lamb must
show in the general OYE show in order to be elgible to sell in the Sale of Champions.
7. An exhibitor can enter an infinite number of Champions Tribute purchased animals in the
OYE Champions Tribute Showback, even if exhibitor has already entered the maximum of three
wethers in Farm Credit Market Wether Goat Show or the Moorman's ShowTec Market Wether
Lamb Show. However, an exhibitor is still limited to exhibiting only three wether lambs or goats
in the Farm Credit Market Wether Goat Show or the Moorman's ShowTec Market Wether Lamb
Show.
8. Goats- Artificial coloring and paint are not permitted for use in the Market Wether goat
division during the show.
Lambs- Artificial coloring, paint and powder are not permitted for use in the Market Wether
Lamb division during the show. All Market Wether Lambs must be slick shorn, including the
head, a maximum of 30 days prior to classification. There can be no wool above the knees or
hocks. The use of hydration utensils and the use of soft muzzles are permitted in the stalls only.
Soft muzzles must be removed from lambs any time they are taken from their stall for any
reason. Failure to use hydration utensils and soft muzzles in the stalls only will constitute
disqualification. Blocking stands are permitted outside the exhibitor’s stalls at the 2017 Expo.
9. Champions Tribute Showback entry cards will be included in the County/Chapter packets. An
entry card will be provided for each animal.
10. There is no official weigh-in of animals. Official scales will be available for exhibitors to use
in determining weight for the official Champions Tribute Showback entry card.
11. The top two animals will be weighed upon exiting the ring with a 5 pound weigh back
allowance on the official weight determined by the weight listed on the exhibitor’s weight card.
Animals not within the 5 pound weigh back allowance will be disqualified.
12. All sheep and goats will be shown by weight. There will be no breed separation.
13. The Grand Champion Champions Tribute Wethers will be awarded a lot in the OYE Sale of
Champions which will take place on Friday, March 17 at 4:00 p.m. Please refer to the OYE
General Rules for Premium Sale guidelines. EXHIBITORS CAN ONLY SELL ONE ANIMAL
IN THE PREMIUM SALE, EVEN IF THEY GET AN ADDITIONAL ANIMAL IN THE SALE
DURING THE FARM CREDIT MARKET WETHER GOAT SHOW OR THE MOORMAN'S
SHOW TEC WETHER LAMB SHOW (see general Sale of Champion rules).
14. The Champions Tribute Show will follow the general rules of the show.
SELLER GUIDELINES
1. If you end up buying back your animal, you still must pay the commission percentage, as this
is a fundraiser for the sheep and goat exhibitors.
