I’M A TRAIN
THE TIGERS IN THE JUNGLE
I’m a choo choo train
(hold arms at sides)
Chugging down the track
First I go forward
(rotate arms and lean forward)
Then I go back
(rotate arms and lean backwards)
Now my bell is ringing
(pretend to pull bell cord)
Hear my whistle blow
(toot like a whistle)
What a lot of noise I make
(cover ears)
Everywhere I go!
(sung to “The wheels on the Bus”)
The tigers in the jungle say grr, grr, grr,
grr, grr, grr,
The tigers in the jungle
say grr, grr, grr,
all day long.
-continue with parrots (squawk) , monkeys,…..
DRIVE THE FIRE TRUCK
Hurry, hurry, drive the fire truck
(steer wheel)
Hurry, hurry, drive the fire truck
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!
(Ring bell)
Hurry, hurry, turn the corner
(Lean to the right)
Hurry, hurry, climb the ladder
(Pretend to climb)
Hurry, hurry, squirt the water
(Pretend to spray)
Slowly, slowly, back to the station
(Lean slowly to the left and right)
EARLY LITERACY TIPS
Talk: Help your child think of other animals that
have stripes (zebras, raccoons, snakes, skunks,
chipmunks).
Talk: Help your child think of words that start with
the “T”- “tuh” sound (toe, turtle, tooth, tickle, toy)
or think of other animal names that start with
“T” (toad, turtle, termite).
Learn: Learn new names for colors by reading
the color names on crayons. These creative and
unusual names are a great vocabulary booster.
