This presentaon is for parents and teachers of children in
Grades K to 9. At the end of the session parcipants will be
able to describe the basics of diabetes management, idenfy
the role of teachers and parents in diabetes management, and
learn what steps to take when faced with low and high-blood
sugar.
* Parents: Consider inving your child’s teacher to this presentaon.
Level I Acvity: This session presents an overview of what a child/youth
with Type 1 Diabetes needs with regards to support in the school system,
and would best meet the needs of families and/or professionals with li$le
to no knowledge of, or experience, with this topic.

Boys and Working With
Boys’ Brains
