7TH APRIL, 2013 Supernatural Dimension to Soul Winning Acts 1:8; 10:38, Rom.15:19, Mk 16: 16-20, 1 Cor.2:4, 2 Cor. 5:18 Introduction: Over the last few weeks, we have taken our time to study and learn the dynamics of effective soul winning. It is imperative we understand that this all important assignment is warfare which should not be handled with levity or lightheartedness. It is a struggle for supremacy between Christ and satan; a tussle for the souls of men. We all are involved in this battle, and the forces we are up against are not physical, they are supernatural forces that operate in the realm of darkness; it's our job to penetrate them with the light of the gospel of our Lord Jesus. Today, as we share the communion, the power of the Holy Spirit will energize us afresh for soul winning, in Jesus Name. Points to note: 1. We are soldiers of Christ: 2 Timothy 2:2-5. God expects all of us to be actively involved in the business of soul winning. No Soldier goes to battle to be a spectator. 2 Timothy 4:7 2. We are to put on the whole armour of God: Ephesians 6: 10-18. How equipped are you? 3. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal (man-made or artificial): 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. Below are some of the weapons at our disposal: · The name of Jesus: Mark 16: 15-20, Acts 3:1-6 · The power of the Holy Spirit: Romans 15:19, I Cor. 2:4, Zechariah 4:6 · The word of God: Matthew 4:4, Colossians 3:16, Acts 20:32 · The power of Prayer: James 5:16. 4. Victory is guaranteed: The stronghold of sin, addictions, satanic oppressions, etc will give way in the lives of the people when we preach the word with power. Acts 10:38, 2 Cor. 10:4. Conclusion: The destiny of a sinner will be in jeopardy of hell fire if Christians do not wake up to the responsibility of entrenching the kingdom of God in the hearts of men. God has given us all that we need to get the job done. Remember that the time is short, the assignment is great, and more than ever before, the harvest is ripe. Rise up today, for the world awaits you! You will succeed in Jesus Name. 8th - 13th April, 2012 Resurrection Power 1 Cor. 15: 12 – 19, Col 2: 6 - 15 One of the greatest miracles the world has witnessed took place when God raised His Son, Jesus Christ from the dead. Through this singular act, God restored man to his original status with the power to dominate where he had been oppressed. The resurrection of Jesus remains the central message of Christianity and is the basis of our victory in all areas of life. Regardless of the state of your business today, you were destined to reign. Today, we shall consider some truths regarding the power of the resurrection in your business. 1. Is there a correlation between knowing who you are in Christ and taking charge in your business? Eph. 1: 15 – 23 (Discuss) 2. We have a common destiny in Christ, which is glory and not shame (Rom. 8: 29 – 30). This means that regardless of the challenges confronting us in business, each of us can enjoy access to the same power that raised Christ from the dead. Below are some points to consider: Christ paid the ultimate penalty on your behalf so you are free indeed! (Rom. 6:3 – 9, Jn. 8: 36) Your success in business is important to God (Psa. 35:27, Jn. 15: 8) You have access to the resurrection power through the working of the Holy Spirit in you (Rom. 8:11, Isa. 61: 1 - 3) Knowing who you are in Christ is a key to victorious living (Jn. 8: 32, 2 Pet. 1: 5 - 9) The joy of Christ's death and resurrection should not be limited to Easter alone but should be our daily reality. In Him, we have victory over curses (Gal. 3: 13 - 14), poverty (2 Cor. 8:9), fear (2 Tim 1:7), and everything that may seek to stand against us in our business endeavours. Don't settle for less, because Christ paid it all. The power of resurrection is available to you today, make the most of it. You will succeed in Jesus name. Amen.
