A thorough search of our buildings has not revealed their whereabouts. If any one has any information about these keys and their whereabouts please talk to Elizabeth or the churchwardens. We are indebted to Susan for offering to keep us on the straight and narrow with our administration whilst Kirsty is on compassionate leave. All enquiries to continue to come to the parish office where a team of us will deal with them and call on Susan’s expertise should we need it. Don't forget - Church Day Out on June 8th We would love you to come along on our Church Day Out to Wey Island. Just an hour away from London, this special place has something for everyone: lots of green space for relaxing, picnics and games a BBQ area that we can use access to canoes for adults and children (one at a time and supervised) indoor space with a kitchen for teas and coffees Due to the site's location down the end of an offroad track, we will be travelling by car rather than coach. There is plenty of parking but if you have spare places in your car please let us know and we will try and match those without cars with spaces. All we ask is that you bring along yourselves, drinks and some food for the BBQ or picnic and a contribution to cover the running costs of Wey Island for the day. For more details please contact Clair Wilcox . Alternatively, you can sign up on the sheet in the Church foyer. MINISTRY MUSINGS ****************** 2nd June 2013 ~ 1st Sunday after Trinity “Don't let your indecision, take you from behind Trust your inner vision, don't let others change your mind” Bucks Fizz 1981 Well, that just goes to show the vicars’ age! The words talk of love; exploring, experimenting, experiencing, entertaining new ideas and being excited about them and then committing, following inner vision and making your mind up! I wonder ~ is that so different from the way we treat and encounter faith or indeed the way God wants us to understand it? The lyrics speak of the many emotions involved in love. Sometimes moving quickly and then slowing down, sometimes senses heightened and then lowered. We pretend that we are indifferent and we even deny what we discover, but eventually we have to take a step of trust, (faith), and things turn out right ~ if challenging! We discover that God loves us and we in turn love him! In our Old Testament reading Elijah went before the people and asked them, Sunday 9th June 2013 2nd Sunday after Trinity 10.00am Holy Communion with Fair Trade Stall President: Revd Sr Elizabeth Shearcroft CA Guest Preacher: Mr Peter Graystone National Development Officer for Fresh Expressions, Church Army. Readings: 1 Kings 17: 8 - 16, (17-24) OT p 333 Galatians 1: 11 - 24 NT p 184 Luke 7: 11 - 17 NT p 63 Ministry Members If you need to contact any of the Ministry Team, DO NOT ring after 9pm, except in absolute emergency. Revd. Sr Elizabeth Shearcroft, CA, Vicar “How long will your waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him, but if Baal is God then follow him” 1 Kings 18:21 The people remained indecisive, worldly things seemed more attractive that what God offered! And it would seem nothing really changes! Paul challenges the church of Galatia “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you!” Gal. 1:6 But, when we stop being indecisive and trust then God does great things. Our Gospel tells of one of the many encounters that Jesus had with those who believed his message and he says “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel” Luke 7: 9 Bucks Fizz sang; “The rules of the game will let you find the one you’re looking for” We have God’s Word ~ believe and trust! Mr Martin Keene, Warden Mr Hopeton Cunningham, Warden Miss Jenny Hull, Reader Dr Marion Gray, Reader Mr David Gray, Reader Mrs Caroline Hewitt, Treasurer Mrs Joyce Lynch, Envelope Secretary Mrs Maya Matthews, PCC Secretary Mrs Laura Reynolds, Safeguarding Officer Mrs Maureen Burgess, Safeguarding Officer Mrs Kirsty Jenkinson, Administrator Kirsty is aiming to be in the office (for definite) most of each Thursday (09.30 - 14.30).
