ComputerizedProviderOrderEntry(CPOE) OMCisusingtechnologytoimprovepatientsafetyandmakecaremoreefficientbyadoptinganelectronicordersystem forphysicians.ThesystemiscalledCareProviderOrderEntryorCPOE.Ratherthanwritingbyhandmedication prescriptions,testingordersandcareinstructions,physiciansnowhavetheabilitytoenterelectronicordersfor hospitalizedpatientsintheircare.Thiseliminateshandwritingerrorsandmakestheprocessmoreefficientbecause thereisnodelayincommunicationbetweenthephysicianandotherdepartmentsornursingstaff. MissouriFoundationforHealthSpecialProjects(CaseManagementintheEmergencyDept.)-$446,121 OzarksMedicalCenterwillprovideaccesstocasemanagementintheEmergencyDepartmentforatotalofthreeyearsto highutilizingpatientspresentingwithcomplexmedical/socialneeds.Twofull-timecasemanagerswillworkwiththe coremanagementteamtodevelopanindividualizedpatientplanresultinginqualitypatientcare.
