THE SEVEN ROLES OF THE PRESIDENT

THE SEVEN ROLES OF THE PRESIDENT
At any given time, of course, only one person is President of the Untied
States. The office, with all of its powers and duties, belongs to that one
individual. Whoever that person may be, he, and likely someday she, must
fill a number of different roles, and all of them at the same time. The
President is simultaneously, (1) chief of state, (2) chief executive, (3) chief
diplomat, (4) commander-in-chief, (5) chief legislator, (6) chief politician,
and (7) chief jurist.
Your project will be to create a poster displaying the seven roles of the
President:
• Chief of State
• Chief Executive
• Chief Diplomat
• Commander-in-Chief
• Chief Legislator
• Chief Politician
• Chief Jurist
Poster Requirements:
1. Use standard size poster board.
2. Use your textbook and relevant outside sources to obtain your
information.
3. You need to organize the roles similar to diagram on back of this sheet.
4. Each role must be clearly listed and defined.
5. Include a graphic or image representing each role (do not duplicate
images on example).
6. Provide a specific example of a particular president acting in each role
(you are not allowed to use the same president twice).
