ur class will be celebrating Mother’s Day on Tuesday May 3rd at 4:30
pm. All mothers are welcome to join us for a performance as well as
afternoon tea.
With the warm weather
returning we will be starting
the running club once again.
The children will join Mrs.
Laura on the soccer field every
Thursday to warm up prior to
going for a run.
We continue to have weekly
reading buddies. The children
love spending time with their
buddies also the time together
is resulting in improvements
with their letter and word
recognition.
We also had two very special
guests,
Mrs.
Jeroc,
instructed a yoga class
and Ms. Laura’s sister
Christine, taught us about
bees for Earth Day. Mrs.
Jeroc did a fantastic job at
introducing yoga through
storytelling. Yoga inspired
the children’s imaginations
and made them aware of
their environment. Ms.
Christine’s lesson on bees
was very informative.
The children learned
about pollination and
how to help save the bee
population.
In April t-ball season
started once again.
The students are

their
ability
to throw, catch and hit the ball.

pril has been a busy
month for our class!
Its hard to believe that there
are only two months left of
school! During the month
of April our class has been
focusing on underwater
animals and gardening.
The children have had the
opportunity to observe
pictures of underwater
creatures, create their
own jellyfish, sort
flowers, and engage in
dramatic play acting as
flower shop customers. In
May we will be changing our
focus to insects
and camping!

with fun activities and

They learned
about the chemical reaction
that occurs between copper
and vinegar. This was followed
up by a week about Pets,
Under the Sea and we closed
the month focusing on DIY
projects.
Our friends brought their
beanie baby pets to show and
tell. They also shared stories
about the pets that they have
at home and stuffed animals.
They tapped into their creative
side when making pet rocks,
giving them special names that
only they could pronounce.
They loved making bird
feeders to hang on trees. The
day was warm and sunny
which was perfect for this
experience. During DIY week,
we made scrunches’ that
proved to be a bit tricky for a
few but with perseverance and
determination they were able to
make these lovely accessories.

Adrian Houser and his team

Although this project will take
more than the week planned,
the skills that will be gained
will be well worth it. The last
Friday in April, We hosted a
pizza party and made fun fruit
kabobs. This was bittersweet
experience because it was Ms
Abby’s last day with the grade
