PRESS RELEASE California State University, Fullerton Public Relations & Marketing, College of the Arts (657) 278-‐2434 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, FULLERTON THEATRE PRODUCES SHAKESPEARE’S MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING California State University, Fullerton presents Shakespeare’s romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing in the Young Theatre of the Clayes Performing Arts Center, October 18-November 3, 2013. Directed by Cal State Fullerton MFA graduate student Travis Donnelly, Much Ado About Nothing follows the adventures of Beatrice, Benedict, Hero, and Claudio as they discover love in the most unexpected places while overcoming dark and dangerous schemes along the way. Shakespeare’s universal themes of overcoming obstacles for love and exploring what makes people fall in love still resonate with modern audiences. This he said/she said tale of Beatrice and Benedict (who have sworn off love) takes surprising twists and turns as they combat each other in verbal battles while friends play matchmaker. The appropriate title describes this nonstop comedy of errors as misunderstanding, gossip and eavesdropping thicken the plot in Shakespeare’s signature style. The cast of Much Ado About Nothing includes Ethan Corbett, Benji Coelho, Collin Andrews, Craig Tyrl, Vahan Oknayan, Connor Dugard, Dylan Farris, Christopher Yu, Zachary Porter, Cheryl Gottselig, Scott Sharma, Mitchell McCollum, Ricky Abilez, Tommy Tafoya, Mallory Staley, Emily James, Stephanie Wilborn, and Bailey Castle. Scenic Design is by Kristin Campbell, Lighting Design is by Jayne Dutra, Sound Design is by Varag Vick Kamali, Costume Design is by Heather Korn, and Makeup and Hair Design is by Heather Korn and Karen Toledo.
