start time of 8:50 and dismissing at 11:55, grades 1st through 5th will be dismissed at 1:10 daily. The time

As you come on campus, please take the time to peruse our Lost and Found, which will be in placed in
the quad for student and parent viewing. All unclaimed Lost and Found will be donated after November

We do have school November 21st and 22nd, but will have the remainder of the week off for Thanksgiving
Break.
Remember that we do have a new webhost and our school’s URL is now http://auburnel.auburn.k12.ca.us
Our website is currently under construction and being updated regularly.
Please assist our office staff in supporting your child getting to their after school location by not calling to
make changes in after-school plans the last 30 minutes of the school day. Messages left after this time do
not give us time to ensure their delivery. Thank you for your consideration.
It’s a great day to be a Panther

HELP KEEP OUR CAMPUS SAFE AND FREE FROM VANDALISM
We need your help in keeping our campuses safe and free from vandalism. There are two ways you can help:
1. If you notice vandalism of any kind on campus over the weekend or in the evenings, please email the
principal at [email protected] and our Director of Maintenance and Operations, Ben Newman at
[email protected]. That way, the situation can be addressed in a timely manner.
2. WeTip provides an anonymous crime and incident reporting hotline to students and their families. WeTip’s
hotline is a solution for people to get involved in establishing safer schools and communities. Students are
often afraid to report crime information because they fear reprisal from the person they are reporting. WeTip
gives students and their families an opportunity to give information without fear. No one will ask your name;
you will remain anonymous.
The number is 1-800-78-CRIME
Thank you for your help in keeping our campuses safe and clean!
ABSENCES
When your child is absent from school, please call the office (887-1958). School board policy states that excessive
absence or tardiness will result in referral to the Placer County of Education and District Attorney and may result in a
failing grade and consideration for retention.
TARDY REMINDER
Students who are not in class when the bell rings at 8:50 a.m. are considered tardy or absent. Late students must get
a tardy pass from the office before going to class. Staying home to finish homework is not an excused tardy. Perfect
Attendance awards are given to students who have NO excused or unexcused tardies or absences.
DRESS CODE
Just a reminder… please read the green Panther Homework Folder regarding the dress code. No halter tops,
spaghetti straps, or flip-flops at school. Clothing must be sufficient to conceal all undergarments at all times. Sagging
pants or shorts are prohibited. Students will be sent to the office and need to call home for appropriate clothes or
wear something from the emergency clothes basket. If you have any questions or would like to see a copy of the
dress code, please call the school office.
HELP KEEP OUR STUDENTS SAFE
Please remember that students cannot arrive on campus until 8:30 a.m. when supervision begins.




No one should be on campus before 8:30 a.m. Until then you must wait at the flag pole or clock tower.
At 8:30 a.m. students enter campus, drop backpacks off at the classroom, and report to the playground.
Parents must go to the playground or top of the stairs, not wait by classrooms. This creates confusion and
unsupervised situations.
On rainy days students need to report directly to the cafeteria.
COMMUNICATION
Throughout the school year families will receive a telephone message from Auburn Elementary or the District Office.
These messages will be informational or reminders, or may be used for emergency purposes. The phone number
used is the number we have on file for your child. Please make sure all contact numbers are current so you will
receive these important messages.
We continue to recycle. Please send in used video games, video game consoles, empty inkjet cartridges,
empty laser cartridges, used cell phones, digital cameras, laptops, PDA’s/Palm Pilots, IPods, and DVD
movies
