The God of Jacob is our strong place.” Psalm 46:10-11 A Note from the Principal: Board members decided last Monday evening to hold a garage sale on Saturday, June 10th to liquidate the belongings of the school. Parents of Noah Webster will be able to preview and purchase items on Friday, June 9th. At this time, I do not have times for the sale. The sale will happen in the school. Each room will be setup with items for sale. Help will be needed to organize and bring items over from the gym. Setup will occur the week of June 5th. If you can help, please stop by the office. If there are items you know you would like to purchase, we can set those aside for you. Just let us know in the office. We will send home flyers next week advertising the sale. Cost for each yearbook is $15.00. If you did not get a form, more are available in the office. Band The students will enjoy a pizza party together during the lunch hour on Wednesday. They will not need their band instruments this week. Chick-fil-A Spirit Day Our last spirit day is scheduled for THIS Thursday, May 18th. You can go to Chick-fil-A anytime during the day; just be sure to tell the cashier prior to ordering that you are with Noah Webster. In conjunction with it, we ask that kids and staff wear their Noah Webster t-shirts. Kindergarten Promotion Awards Ceremony This event will be held in the sanctuary of Sunnyside Baptist Church NEXT Tuesday, May 23rd starting at 7 pm. Awards will be given to students with the highest grade point average (GPA) and for Christian Character. Awards Chapel Teachers for 1st-6th will be presenting awards to individual students in their class on Wednesday, May 24th beginning at 8:45 am. Parents and grandparents are welcome to attend. Kindergarten students do not attend awards chapel but are still required to come to school in chapel clothes. All School Field Trip Permission slips for our roller skating trip will go home tomorrow, Tuesday, May 16th. The entire student body will go roller skating at Roller City, Thursday, May 25th from 12:45 to 3:00 pm. Transportation of the students will be provided by the teachers, staff and a few parents. If your child needs a car seat, please provide one. So that we can have a final head count and to assign students to drivers, permission slips need to be turned into to the office no later than 8:30 am, Tuesday, May 23rd. Jillybean Videos Have your students been talking nonstop about Jillybean’s visit in chapel? Now you too can see what all the excitement was about and enjoy some quality time with your students. Jillybean left videos of her early years in the office that are available for purchase. The sale of these videos will aid Jillybean with expenses on her missionary trip this summer. Videos are one for $10 or two for $15. Lessons are open to all students entering fourth grade through high school, and consist of two 30 minute lessons per week; from June 12th through July 20th. Lessons are taught in a small group format with like instrument/ability grouping. Reading Rescue Reading Rescue improves the reading skills of students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Most services in this comprehensive evaluation process are covered by medical insurance due to the visual, auditory, neurological and cognitive skills that are being assessed. Reading Rescue’s approach includes a customized plan developed specifically to help your child learn at a faster and more efficient rate. Math: Lessons 125, 126, 127, 128 and 130. We are pushing to complete our math book before the end of the year. Students will be assigned homework to complete over the weekend.
