P2: Prerequisite: P1 level skills The student will learn primary swimming skills, which include: holding breath under water (5 seconds), unsupported front and back float (10 seconds), independent front and back flutter kick, gliding skills off of wall as well as the introduction of crawl and back crawl, jump in entry from side of pool (w/out help). P3: Prerequisite: P2 level skills The student will learn stroke readiness skills, which include: introduction of side breathing, turning skills from front to back, correct back gliding skills off of wall, elementary backstroke kick, coordinated crawl stroke (10 meters),coordinated backstroke (10 meters). Retrieving an object from bottom of pool will also be taught. P4: Prerequisite: P3 level skills The student will learn stroke development skills, which will include: crawl stroke with side breathing (25 meters), backstroke (25 meters), introduction of breastroke kick, treading water, introduction of kneeling and standing dives, and swimming underwater for 10 meters. Personal water safety skills related to deep water will also be taught.
