AlarmView User FAQ 1. Can I arm the alarm system when I'm not in front of the panel? Yes, the AlarmView system can be armed and disarmed, by the smartphone app or by sending a text message to the control panel 2. Can the AlarmView system be armed other than by the keypad? a. The AlarmView system can be armed and disarmed using a key fob b. A wireless keypad can be used too to arm and disarm the system 3. Can the AlarmView send me an Email? Yes. When you create a new contact, enter the contact’s email address. 4. Can I check the panel status remotely? Yes. Send a text message with the letter ‘s’ to the alarm system. The following commands can also be used: arm/disarm, activate the PGM output, stop the siren and request look-in images. Command list (not case sensitive): A – Arm Away D – Disarm H – Arm Home P – Arm Partial S – System status XXi - Image request from a specific zone XX indicate visual zone number (25 -30) 99i - Image request from all video zones 1o – Activate PGM 1c – Deactivate PGM B – Stop Bell\Siren ? – Request for command list 5. How do I know if and when the panel sends a text message? An envelope icon is displayed onscreen. 6. How do I know if and when the panel sends an image or Email message? An envelope icon with the letter ‘G’ is displayed onscreen 7. Can the AlarmView be monitored by the monitoring Station and also report to me? Yes. Alarm & Visual reports can be sent both to the Monitoring Station and/or to the end user’s mobile phone and Email 8. How many users can be notified by the AlarmView? Up to 4 users, each can be notified by SMS+MMS+Email 9. Which events can be reported to the users? The following events (including Restore): Burglary alarm Fire alarm Arming/disarming Service report Power fault Medical alarm Visual verification 10. How many arming options are in the AlarmView? There are three options: Full away – the entire system Home 1 - partial arming for a pre-selected zone Partial - partial arming for an alternative pre-selected zone 11. How can I arm/disarm the panel remotely? There are two ways: By sending SMS with ‘A’ to arm and ‘D’ to disarm. By using the smartphone app 12. Which batteries does the SmartView use? Two AA Lithium batteries 13. Which batteries does the PIR detector use? Two AA Lithium batteries 14. How do I find out the panel’s version? Access the Master User menu and select -> Options-> Service-> Display Version. 15. How can I block users (contacts) from making a remote look-in? Use your Master code to access programming and choose the Remote look-in option for all users. 16. Can I use a prepaid SIM card? Prepaid SIM cards can be used, but the panel can't notify you when it runs out of credit. 17. Can I arm the AlarmView even if I have received a “Low battery” message to my cell phone? Yes, if the installer enabled the Override option. 18. Can I arm AlarmView even if the battery is low? Yes, if the installer enabled the Override option 19. Is there an Android app that controls AlarmView? Yes. It is not yet listed in the Android market, but is available with your installer. Please ask him to send it to you. 20. Is there an iPhone app that controls the panel? iPhone app will be available later in 2013 21. How can I recover master or installer codes? To recover these codes, do the following: a. b. c. d. Disconnect AC and battery power Wait 10 second Restore the AC power From power up you have 30 seconds to use factory default Master or Installer code. 22. Can the Master user restrict installer's access to programming? During installation, ask your installer to enable the restriction option. Once this option is enabled, the Master code will be required to allow access to the Installer menu 23. When will the panel be able to trigger the PGM output? The PGM can be set to indicate the following events: e. f. g. h. During Exit or Entry time During disarm state – when at least one zone is open or tampered During arm state – when alarm event was issued Always: During system faults (Ac/battery/supervision loss/system tamper) 24. Can I program the external siren to indicate exit\entry time? In version 02.08.35 and up, the option of sounding short beeps during arming\disarming (exit/entry time) has been added. This feature will work only when Away arming is selected. By default this option is disabled. 25. Can time and date be modified remotely? As of AlarmView firmware version 02.08.35 and Programming Tool version 01.07.08, this option has been added.
