Sift the flour into a mixing bowl, add all the other ingredients and mix them with a wooden spoon.
Knead the dough a few times on a lightly floured surface to be sure it’s well mixed and has a smooth
consistency. Knead in more flour if dough feels too sticky.
Cut it
nn
nn
Lightly coat with flour and roll dough out to about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Line two baking trays with
greaseproof paper.
Using cutters, cut out the gingerbread shapes (using the straw to make a hole at the top) and place
them on a baking tray, leaving a gap between them.
Bake it
nn
Preheat oven to 130°C.
nn
Bake for 2–3 hours or until completely dry. Take out and leave to cool.
Decorate it
nn
When your ornaments have cooled, decorate them with glitter glue and any other fancy bits!
nn
Use some ribbon or twine to make a loop so you can hang them up.
