Art.243-D
(1) Seats shall be reserved for—(a) the S /Cs; and (b)
the S /Ts, in every Panchayat and the number of
seats so reserved ... the same proportion to the
total number of seats to be filled by direct election
in that Panchayat .................... and such seats
may be allotted by rotation to different
constituencies in a Panchayat.
• (2) Not less than one-third of the total number of
seats reserved ... shall be reserved for women
belonging to the Scheduled Castes or, as the case
may be, the Scheduled Tribes.
• (3) Not less than one-third (including the number
of seats reserved for women belonging to the S /C
and the S/T) of the total number...... by direct
election in every Panchayat shall be reserved for
women and such seats may be Allotted by
rotation to different constituencies in a Panchayat

Panchayat shall be reserved for women

or the officer authorised by it ...by rotation
to different constituencies

Follow these steps....
Details regarding existing reservations(2010)
should be obtained from the secretaries of the
LSGIs
After drawing lots in each category, it should be
announced and entered in the register meant
for that purpose, then and there.
At the close of lots , the details of reservation
with regard to the particular LSGI should be
entered in the register without any ambiguity .
