Across the Federation we are very lucky to be able
to use our staff to help each individual school in
times of need. Supply staff do not know the children
as well, and are often far more expensive; sadly some
schools don't have a choice.

Fact of the Week
The Hawaiian alphabet has only 13 letters.
FOBS Quiz
The FOBS Quiz, held at Lund Village Hall on Friday last was a great
success, which was much enjoyed by all. Many thanks to all who
attended, donated raffle prizes and helped out on the night as well as
Julie Spence the Quiz Master and the FOBS who organised it. The
Beswick team came out winners and were delighted to help raise a
substantial amount of money.
FOBS Sponsored Walk - Friday 27 May 2016
Sponsorship forms were distributed some time ago; if you need a
replacement or an additional form, please feel free
to collect one from Mrs Bugg. All are welcome to
join the walk; dogs welcome to come along too! This
year Mrs Pexton will be welcoming us for our
refreshment stop. If you’d like to join us on the walk, please meet in the
school car park at 1.10 pm. We look forward to welcoming every one on
this very enjoyable event. Please ensure that children have suitable
footwear and waterproof clothing if the weather on the day is inclement.
Parent View
Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think about
your child’s school, from the quality of teaching to dealing with bullying
and poor behaviour. The survey can be completed at any time; you don’t
have to wait until the school is being inspected.

FOBS AGM
The FOBS AGM will be held on Wednesday 25 May 2016 at 3.30 pm. If you are attending and would like
your child(ren) to stay in school, then the After School Club is happy to take bookings. Nomination forms
for committee members were distributed on Thursday to all children. If yours hasn’t made it home, then
extra copies are available in the office and from Mrs Bristow.
Special Thanks
KS2 had a fantastic afternoon on Thursday when Ms Combes (Solicitor Advocate) came into school to
preside over the trial of two Year 6 children. Pupils took on roles within a court and the jury and they
considered the evidence before making their decision. This superb opportunity was arranged by Mr Lord
and Mr Gay.
