Marijuana: Is it Really Safe?
Manoj Mittal, MD, MSc attended medical school at University
College of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India, before moving to Kansas
City to train in Neurology at the Kansas University Medical Center.
He did subspecialty training in Neurocritical Care at the Mayo Clinic,
Rochester and also did his masters in clinical research during this
time. He joined the University of Kansas Medical Center as an
Assistant Professor of Neurology in July 2013. He is board certified
in Neurology and Neurocritical Care. He is the PI of various locally
funded research projects. He is the site co-PI in various NIH
funded studies (POINT, BFREAL). His research interest includes role of addiction in stroke,
post-stroke complications, and neuro-epidemiology. He has published more than 35
manuscripts in various mainstream neurology journals. His research work has gained
attention via various local and national media centers. He is a member of the American
Academy of Neurology, and the Neurocritical Care Society.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This professional continuing education workshop is designed for social
workers, psychologists, therapists, counselors and other mental health professionals, nurses and
health care workers.

 Discuss the current status of Marijuana in United States
 Describe the potential benefits of Marijuana
 Recognize the relationship between Marijuana and Stroke
