WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE FERTBEN GRANULAR FERTILIZERS
Most Italian soils are alkaline, as they have a Ph value higher than
7 considered the neutral point value, whereas most cultures
take advantage of slightly acid soils (Ph value below 7). When
the soil is more acid, this generally improve crop’s germination
performance, increases transplant-stress resistance and
improves the radication process that let the plants better
absorb the nutritional elements necessary. Mineral elements
(which are divided in micro, meso and macroelements) are
unfortunately difficult for the plants to absorb , because of their
scarce mobility, plants’ uptake capacity being often influenced
by alcaly pH value (arboreal fruit cultures).
The expertise gained along its over 40 years
of existence, the continuous efforts towards
quality and innovation of the management have
allowed Fertben to position itself as a leader in
the production of acid forming reaction granular
fertilizers. To determine the rate of organic
nitrogen contained in a fertilizer means to find
out the amount of organic matter needed to
produce it.
Whenever having to choose a fertilizer we should pay more
attention to the elements contained, starting Nitrogen to
establish the rate of organic Nitrogen contained by an
organic-mineral fertilizer is preconditionary to determine the
capacity of the organic matter to interact with the mineral
components, by modulating their release to the soil which
results in the optimizing the nutritional uptake of crops. The
sole use of organic matters do not guarantees the same
result, as animal dejections, when used as fertilizers induce a
mineralization process that is simply too fast to guarantee the
right balance with the mineral fraction for a prolonged time.
The more the organic matter contained, the longer will the
slow-release effect last. On the contrary, when the content of
organic matter is scarce, the release of nutrients will last just
for a limited time. We consider a 2% rate of organic nitrogen
on the whole product Fertben mineral-organic fertilizer (which
corresponding to 20% on the whole of the organic matter
contained) to be fundamental to get substantial results. Proteic
leather hydrolizate, dry blood and the compost of animal horn
and nail have proved to be the best materials to obtain the right
protection of the mineral components. The chemical Nitrogen
fraction of the fertilizer is derived mostly from ammonia
salts, being such form more resistant to nutrients’ leaching.
Phosphorus, another essential element necessary to sustain
many metabolic functions of cultures, have to be present into
the soil in an uptakable form. Since its availability is strongly
conditioned by the degree of solubilization of soil’s phosphatic
components, a high rate of Phosphorus Pentoxide (provided it
is soluble in water and neutral ammonic citrate) is fundamental
to determine the uptake of this element. Potassium, is scarcely
conditioned by insolubilization’s related problems, due to the
high solublity of its inorganic compunds, but it has to be used
carefully, especially when applied to chlore-sensible crops
(tobacco, fruit bearing cultures, vegetables). In some cases,
it is necessary to evaluate if it comes wholly from Potassium
Sulphate (low chlore content), from Potassium Chloride, or
from mixed salts, which use cannot be excluded - provided it
is made correctly. For these reasons, Fertben’s products are
equally classified according to the raw materials from which
they originate. This classification needs to be considered by
the user in its choice of the most suitable products for each
culture. The endowment of nutritionals is completed by
balanced quantities of Mesoelements (Calcium, Magnesium,
Sulfur) and Microelements (Boron, Cupper, Iron, Zinc)
differently apportioned according to the differents needs
of each culture. They can be used as well to prevent or to
recover from deficiencies.
Some of our Lines of products are enriched with valuable
materials such as natural Zeolites, usable as substratum
for seedling and vegetable growing. Due to their chemical
structural forms these materials have high cation exchange
and selective absorption properties which are complementary
and synergical with organic matter, allowing for a modulated
release of nutrients and lower leaching loss (i.e. the loss of
water-soluble plant nutrients from the soil, due to rain and
irrigation.) Finally our range includes some colour-dyed
formulas, color dyeing makes the products more easily
recognizable and it is completely safe both for the user and for
the environment. Colour dyeing can be available upon client’s
request.
WHY JUST GRANULAR FERTILIZERS?
Granular shape makes the products uniform and easy to
spread. Ball-shape limits granules’ friction reducing risks of
breacking and subsequent powder formation during storing,
handling and spreading. Moreover, the process of granulation
is one of the few ways to guarantee the complete interaction
between the two components : organic and mineral.

According to the principles of responsible agriculture, it is recommended to apply
nitrogenous fertilizers that have the lowest rates of losses from volatilization
and leaching. On this premise, slow-release fertilizers can create the best
agronomical results, because of their gradual rendering of their nitrogenous
component, they can nourish crops during all the phenological stages.
As it is specifically intended to limit useless losses of nutrients and repeated
applications, the use of these products represents a clean, eco-freindly and a saving
way to fertilize. In order to get a bolstered effect, Fertben employs calcium umates for the Green slow Line and
introduces two innovative products: GREEN SLOW N20 and GREEN SLOW N38.
GREEN SLOW N20 is an organic mineral slow-release (100/120 days ) proteic hydrolized. GREEN SLOW N38 is a
highly efficient chemical fertilizer enriched with urea, coated with a degradable polymer whose release time
is 65 to 90 days. Both formulations have acid pH , contain calcium and sulfur in soluble forms .

Bio N Tek line is composed by slow-release organic mineral granular fertilizers.
The chemical bond between its components, favoured by the manufacturing process
and by the presence of natural Zeolite allow for an improved graduality in the
release of nutrients to the soil and a more efficient control of moisture, which prevents
leaching losses. These products represent the top-end in their market’s segment as
they contain two units of organic nitrogen (a percentage ranking among the highest in
relation to other commercialised products), a highly soluble phosphorus content, substantial quantities of sulphur
plus a series of microelements and low chlore levels, Bio N Tek products are indicated for fruit farming, horticulture,
viticulture and gardening.

ZEOLITE: WHAIT IS IT?
The term “zeolite” (from ancient greek zein, “to boil” and lithos, “stone”, literally “boiling stone”) was coined by the swedish scientist A. F. Cronstedt after observing that upon
heating one of these rocks , it produced large amounts of steam from water. Natural zeolites form where volcanic rocks and ash layers react with alkaline groundwater
and are characterized by a very high ion exchange capacity. As the same time they are highly hygroscopic, as they are capable to attract and hold water molecules
from the surrounding environments and dehidrate almost completely. Zeolites can act as water moderators, in which they will absorb up to 55% of their weight in water
and slowly release it under the plant’s demand. Zeolites crystallize in post-depositional environments over periods ranging from thousands to millions of years in shallow
marine basins. Zeolites have a porous structure that can accommodate a wide variety of cations, such as Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+ and others. These positive ions are
rather loosely held and can readily be exchanged for others in a contact solution. They have a microcrystalline structure formed of cavities and intercommunicating
channels. Zeolites are the aluminosilicate members of the family of microporous solids known as “molecular sieves.” The term molecular sieve refers to a particular
property of these materials, i.e., the ability to selectively sort molecules based primarily on a size exclusion process. This is due to a very regular pore structure of molecular
dimensions. The maximum size of the molecular or ionic species that can enter the pores of a zeolite is controlled by the dimensions of the channels .
ZEOLITE APPLICATIONS IN AGRICULTURE

Thanks to the above properties, zeolites can meet several interesting applications in agriculture, both simply used or added to fertilizers during the productive process.
Through its addition to our products (organic mineral fertilizers on organic keratinic base represented by hydrolized leather) , it is possible to achieve several important
results:
1) The capacity of the fertilizer to render gradually its nutrients combined with zeolites results intensified , this limits furtherly the losses due to leaching or/and retrogradation.
2) The ion-exchange capacity results enhancedì, favouring the absorbtion of the macro and micro elements that are present into the soil in forms unavailable.
3)Water retention is strenghened, this permits to have more water and more aration available to the soil, limiting environment stress situations connected to the
elements.
4) Soil’s heavy metals’ retention capacity is increased : their absorbtion by plants is thus reduced.
5) Permanent structural improvement of soil fertility; zeolites regenerate by themselves mainteining their characteristics unchanged .

BIO N TEK MAX line is composed of organic-mineral granular fertilizers of superior
quality, as they have as much as 2,5% of organic nitrogen and a low chlore level
contained. The organic fraction, besides apportioning natural slow-release nitrogen,
performs as a protector of the mineral fraction, by favouring and gradualising its
release (which can reach 110-120 days on favourable conditions).
This engenders an equilibrated nutrition along the different phenologic phases, that bears advantages, both
quantitative and qualitative in terms of an increased resistance to environment’s stress conditions and to diseases.
The acid reaction (pH 4 /– 4,5) optimize the absorbtion of every element contained in the formulated product
permitting the plant ito absorb elements which are preexistent in soil but in unavailable forms. Seeds germination and
radicle growth are sustained by an acid pH environment. The raw materials used, among them zeolite ( see relevant
chapter) represent the best choice, as we use a high rate of uptakeable Phosphorus, Potassium entirely derived from
Potassium Sulphate, mesoelements (Magnesium, Calcium and Sulphur) and microelements (Boron, Copper and Zinc.
All our formulations contain an important quantity of amino acids to stimulate soil microflora and plant’s growth.
Thanks to its better performance, they need lower dosage (20-30% less) compared to other NPK fertilizers’.

SUPER is a range composed of different formulations specially envisaged for particular
needs of each crop.
The main value of these products are the balanced compositions of nutrients,
granules-size uniformity, scarce presence of powder, the absence of caking
phenomena, which result in their easy application using normal fertilizers spreader.
By contact with soil humidity’s they dissolve rapidly releasing their nutrients to soil. They contain a 2% organic
nitrogen ( which corresponds to 20% on the whole of their organic matrix, fit to guarantee an optimal protection
fo mineral components), whereas for the mineral fraction the ammoniacal form is preferred, being the form less
influenced by leaching losses. Raw materails quality and acid pH guarantee that all nutrients be available for crop’s
balanced, healthy growth that to ensure the best agronomic results.

ORGANO-MINERAL GRANULATED CROP SPECIFIC FERTILIZERS
PHYSIO-NUTRITION OF CEREALS
The object of fertilising is making the applied nutrients fully available to the plants .
When we talk about cereals, the seed, until 20 days after germination, cannot really absorb any
nutrients from the soil, as it gets its provision from its own substances, so during this phase any
chemical fertilizers’ applications represent risks (i.e. phosphorous insolubility and nitrogen leaching).
Then, after this time the crop needs a good quantity of phosphorous to sustain radication and
subsequently to avoid the problem of lodging. In the following phases the nitrogen’s uptake gets
substantial (Green Slow N 20 and Green Slow Priapol N 38). FERTBEN has for this purpose created a
range of different granular formulations that are entirely available, obtained exclusively
by chemical reaction, they are not simply fertilizers blends. Each fertilizer’s granule contains in
itself all the mineral nutritional elements and the organic matter protecting the product from rapid leaching risk
and it carries in itself in proportion the slow release nitrogen, for crop nutrition and soil fertility maintenance.
These are acid forming reaction fertilizers useful to favour nutritional elements’ uptake and to condition the release of
those macro and micro elements that are formerly present in the soil but in unavailable forms. Phosphorous is contained
exclusively in forms that are available to plants, and is not deriving from unsoluble phosphates (phosphorites).

Super FIVE BLU is a line grouping organic mineral fertilizers with different NPK rates,
suitable for every kind of crops’ nutrition, characterized by their blue colour obtained with
food-industrie dyes, applied to make the product simply more visible during spreading
over the soil. Super FIVE BLU products are all granular in shape, powder-free and avoid
clogging, they can be applied directly by fertilizers spreaders, as when in contact with
ground’s humidity they dissolve. The mineral fraction is efficiently protected by the
20% organic matter from proteic hydrolized (2% organic nitrogen), phosphorus
and potassium like other mesoelements are present as forms uptakeable by all crops.
Ph value is acid, so as to supply the plants with the entire nutrients’ content, to improve radication and germination
and to transform previously unavailable soil elements into uptakeable nutrients.

EMONATURAL products contain dry blood, used to restore the green colour of plants, this
components has a positive effect on all the physiological functions of the plant.
Dry blood has the highest content of nitrogen of all organic fertilizers, it has positive
effects on the soil as well, as it strenghtens the action of microflora.
EMONATURAL products have an acid Ph value, very low level of powder,
avoid clogging and are easily diluted on the ground during application.

ZEOLITE: WHAT IS IT?
The term “zeolite” (from ancient greek zein, “to boil” and lithos, “stone”, literally “boiling stone”) was coined by the swedish scientist A. F. Cronstedt after observing that upon
heating one of these rocks , it produced large amounts of steam from water. Natural zeolites form where volcanic rocks and ash layers react with alkaline groundwater
and are characterized by a very high ion exchange capacity. As the same time they are highly hygroscopic, as they are capable to attract and hold water molecules
from the surrounding environments and dehidrate almost completely. Zeolites can act as water moderators, in which they will absorb up to 55% of their weight in water
and slowly release it under the plant’s demand. Zeolites crystallize in post-depositional environments over periods ranging from thousands to millions of years in shallow
marine basins. Zeolites have a porous structure that can accommodate a wide variety of cations, such as Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+ and others. These positive ions are
rather loosely held and can readily be exchanged for others in a contact solution. They have a microcrystalline structure formed of cavities and intercommunicating
channels. Zeolites are the aluminosilicate members of the family of microporous solids known as “molecular sieves.” The term molecular sieve refers to a particular
property of these materials, i.e., the ability to selectively sort molecules based primarily on a size exclusion process. This is due to a very regular pore structure of molecular
dimensions. The maximum size of the molecular or ionic species that can enter the pores of a zeolite is controlled by the dimensions of the channels .
ZEOLITE APPLICATIONS IN AGRICULTURE
Thanks to the above properties, zeolites can meet several interesting applications in agriculture, both simply used or added to fertilizers during the productive process.
Through its addition to our products (organic mineral fertilizers on organic keratinic base represented by hydrolized leather), it is possible to achieve several important
results:
1) The capacity of the fertilizer to render gradually its nutrients combined with zeolites results intensified , this limits furtherly the losses due to leaching or/and retrogradation
2) The ion-exchange capacity results enhanced , favouring the absorbtion of the macro and micro elements that are present into the soil in forms unavailable .
3)Water retention is strenghened, this permits to have more water and more aration available to the soil, limiting environment stress situations connected to the
elements.
4) Soil’s heavy metals’ retention capacity is increased: their absorbtion by plants is thus reduced .
5) Permanent structural improvement of soil fertility; zeolites regenerate by themselves mainteining their characteristics unchanged.

NITROCOTE LINE
NITROCOTE fertilizers combine the action of proteic hydrolized organic matter
(given by its 20% organic matter) with the benefits of the slowly released urea,
coated with degradable resins.
These fertilizers transfer gradually the nitrogen to cultures avoiding waste and losses,

EMONATURAL represent a line of organic fertilizers and soil improvers which use has been
authorized for organic farming. These are products obtained by selecting
biologically active animal dejections, free from pathogenic microorganisms, sludge and
other undesirable composants which would cause adverse effects on soils, cultures and
crops. They can be used both for organic and for traditional farming, as they act as soil
improver, acting chemically and physically by enriching the contained microorganisms’
presence. EMONATURAL products distinguish themselves, as their ingredients are
enriched with valuable biological matters such as: dry-blood (as recognized is helpful
to reestablish the green colour, and the best substratum for useful bacteria in the soil;
bones and meat meal (containing nitrogen and phosphorus of organic origin), and hydrolized leather (slow
release nitrogen until 110-120 post application). They also contain mesoelements (Mg, Ca and Sulphur) and

Biouniversal Line’s fertilizers are derived from materials of natural origin, (namely
bovine leather scraps) and are obtained by a complex process of thermic hydrolisis
by the sole use of water steam and subsequent redrying at controlled temperature.
The fertilizers resulting from this process have exclusive agronomic features:
- Nitrogen slow-release, the products perform naturally gradual rendering of their
Nitrogen component to soil. This limits fertilizing elements losses into the
groundwaters which are potentially prejudicial for the environment .
- High rate of Organic Nitrogen: 11%-12% (among the highest rates available)
making for a reduction ground-spreading ‘s costs.
- High content of Organic Carbon and Organic Substance
useful for soil’s micro-flora maintenance or recreation.
- Presence of humic and fulvic acids, in addition to other important micro-elements as well such as Iron.
- The use of BIOUNIVERSAL Organic fertilizers is allowed for organic farming.

MICROELEMENTS AND CORRECTORS
These are products for the correction of soil’s deficiencies of one or multiple
micro-elements and for the correction of soil Ph value: they are highly specialised
products intended for speicific needs unique in their kind. Effective for the control
of chlorosis, they are convenient to use. Ferro Plus Fert - thanks to its micro-granular shape- is easy to apply, when applied
to green lawns it prevents moss growing. ZolfoFert is pure Sulfur, due to its high purity
rate (99%) its degradation time is quite prolongued but is efficient as ph corrector.
The use of ZolfoFert favours the solubilisation of nutrients present in soil.
