Sean Clay My Reasons for Studying Biology I study biology because I want to know how living things work and use that to everybody’s advantage. I enjoy knowing what makes things tick. Things that are alive are like immensely complex Rube Goldberg machines, and it’s always fun to see how those machines work. Also, I like that the study of biology is important to the human race. I, like many others, would like to see the human race survive, and understanding how we, and our surroundings, work is vital to that survival. Studying things like plants, fungi and bacteria have given us great tools, such as penicillin, with which to survive and thrive. I study biology because I find it interesting and because I want to use it to make tools to improve the quality of life people enjoy.
