REGULATIONS:
Exhibits to be delivered to the Stewards, Rotary Hall, Darwin Showgrounds, Winnellie,
Shean Rd. between 8:00am and 6:00pm on Monday 24th July 2017.
Exhibits must be collected between 8:00am and 12:00noon on Sunday 30th July 2017.
Exhibits not collected within one week following the show may be disposed of at the Society’s
discretion.
Exhibit cards must be produced for the collection of prize money voucher/s and exhibits.
All exhibits will be covered by insurance only for theft by breaking and entry from the time of
delivery to the Showgrounds until the time of removal and no longer than one week following the
Show.
All work to be bona fide work of the exhibitor. All exhibits must not have been previously entered
in the Royal Darwin Show. The Society may place in the correct classes exhibits considered to be
entered in the wrong class. No exhibit may be entered in more than one class. If applicable, return
postage to be forwarded with entries. All wearable exhibits must be clean and unworn, except the
recycling section Class 8 and 10. All quilts/ sewing must be in “as new” condition.
The Society encourages the sale of exhibits. A commission of 20% will be charged by the Show
Society for such sale.

PATCHWORK and QUILTING
Quilts must be constructed of fabric, although embellishments may be added. Quilts must consist of three layers and must be
quilted. Any technique or combination of techniques may be used to make the quilt. All or any of these techniques hand sewn or
machine made.

LACEWORK “HAND MADE ONLY”
Lace is made in a number of ways and is delicate even if made with a coarser thread. Lace is not always purely ornamental; it
can be used for wearing apparel such as collars and cuffs, baby bonnets, bridal veils etc. Methods of Lace Making: With
bobbins, with a needle - Teneriffe, cutwork, drawn thread etc, with a shuttle - tatting, with a hook – crochet, with 2 needles
or a circular needle – knitted, with a hairpin - hairpin crochet.
