If necessary, the children will receive first response first aid from the first aid trained staff at the holiday activity and may be referred to qualified medical personnel. Parents/carers agree to their child receiving medication and to any emergency dental, medical or surgical treatment, including anaesthetic or blood transfusion, which in the opinion of a qualified medical practitioner may be necessary for their child. All children who are ill or infectious must be kept home for the full duration of their ailment, and for 48 hours after the last symptom occurs. The Paragon staff will only administer medication if it has been prescribed by a doctor or other health professional. The Paragon encourages a relaxed atmosphere during the holiday activities and aims to promote positive behaviour at all times. Parents/carers will ensure that their child understands it is important for his/her safety and the safety of the group that he/she obeys any rules and instructions given by the staff in charge. They understand that he/she must respect the property of others, he/she will be patient, honest, fair, and polite to others, he/she will not use abusive or obscene language nor be aggressive in the way they speak or behave towards others and he/she will respect and treat others as they would wish to be treated. The Paragon follows a zero tolerance policy on discrimination, bullying and persistent poor behaviour of any kind, irrespective of any special needs. On rare occasions, and in more serious cases, we reserve the right to exclude children from the holiday activity. No refund will be made for any remaining days booked, and any costs associated with the exclusion, including transport home, will be the parents’ responsibility. While every effort is made to adhere to the activities advertised, The Paragon reserves the right to withdraw or amend part of the programme without prior notice. The children may have the opportunity to try things they may not have tried before, e.g. Stinging Nettle Tea and to wear face paint (e.g. Snazaroo brand). Children should not bring money, mobile phones or other electronic devices to the holiday activities. The Paragon will not be held responsible for any items that get damaged or go missing. We endeavour to return lost property wherever possible, but in order to do this, we ask that all items are clearly named.
