First Release 20 februar 2017 final data In February 2017 consumer opinion worsened compared to the previous month Consumer survey, Slovenia, February 2017 In February 2017 the value of the consumer confidence indicator dropped by 6 percentage points compared to the previous month. On the other hand, at the annual level consumer confidence increased by 11 percentage points, and it was 5 percentage points above last year’s average. The consumer confidence indicator lower at the monthly level In February 2017 the value of the consumer confidence indicator at the monthly level decreased by 6 percentage points (p.p.). All four component indicators worsened compared to the previous month. Expectations about the unemployment rate worsened by 9 p.p., about the country’s economy by 6 p.p., about saving by 4 p.p., and about households’ finances by 2 p.p. The majority of other indicators also deteriorated at the monthly level: to the biggest extent this applies for the indicator of the country’s economy over the last 12 months (down by 8 p.p.) and the expectations about major purchases (down by 5 p.p.). Only the expectations about price level improved (by 2 p.p.), while the opinion about the current household’s finances remained the same as last month. The consumer confidence indicator higher at the annual level The value of the consumer confidence indicator improved by 11 p.p. compared to February 2016, and it was 5 p.p. above last year’s average. All four component indicators had a positive impact on the annual change of the confidence indicator. Expectations about unemployment and the country’s economy improved by 17 p.p., about the households’ finances by 6 p.p. and about saving by 3 p.p.
