A forward can never guard another forward. 2. A left player can never guard a left player, nor can a right player guard a right player. B. The Center Halfback guards the CF C. Once the forwards cross the centerline they must stay on that half of the court. 2. The defensive players may never cross the centerline. 3. The players are also required to stay on their ¼ of the court except for the center forwards and center halfbacks C. To advance the ball a player may run, aerial pass, soccer dribble and soccer pass. D. If a stationary player has an aerial ball he/she has 3 seconds of free time before the defense can tag him/her. Once a player moves the defense can tag him/her immediately. E. F. 7. 9. The defense can steal the ball on the pass but cannot grab/knock the ball out of a player’s hands. Throw Ins A. If the ball goes out of bounds it has to be THROWN back inbounds. B. 8. After the kick-off the forwards must cross over the centerline. C. If the ball bounces and goes out of bounds it went out as a ground ball and must be thrown back in from the ground. If the ball goes out of bounds in the air it must be thrown back in the air with the hands. D. On a throw in: the throw in takes place where the ball went out of bounds the defense must be back 10 feet the passer has 5 seconds to throw the ball inbounds. the passer cannot score from it The goalie A. Almost all violations result in a free kick for the other team. A. Violations that result in a free kick 1. Touching a ground ball with the hands. 2. A player getting tagged. 3. Double teaming the ball 4. Off sides 5. Knocking or grabbing the ball out of another player’s hands. 6. Not having the correct number of passes for a touchdown. 7. The goalie going out of the goal area. 8. The defense standing too close on a throw-in or free kick. 9. Scoring a field goal from outside the goal area. B. Violations that result in a penalty kick 1. Unsportsmanlike conduct 2. Unnecessary roughness a. kicking the ball in an uncontrolled manner. 10. Free Kick A. Takes place where the violation took place. B. A player gets a free chance to convert the ball to him/herself without any defense. C. The defense must be 5 feet away (between him/her and the goal) D. The offense cannot score from it. 11. Penalty Kick A. The ball is a ground ball and cannot be converted. B. The player goes 1 on 1 against the goalie. C. The game continues if the kick is no good. D. The player committing the violation gets a penalty. 1. On the first offense the player sits out for 1 min. 2. For each additional penalty he/she has to sit out for an additional minute. (5th penalty = 5 minutes) 3. There is no substitution for the player in the penalty.
