on: “SUGAR: EVIL OR ANGEL.”
This presentation is presented by our very own
STEM Scholar, Syed Haque and members of their
UC Riverside’s Future Physician Leaders Program
Students (Andrew Alonso, Kryn Daligdig, Josephina
Diaz, Bianca Higareda, Yuna Kwon, Larry Le,
Patrick Yniguez, and Dulce Korzus). Syed will be
attending UC Irvine this Fall. He is a Norco
College Alumni and STEM Scholars Alumni. Each
of these students are part of the UC Riverside
Future Physicians Summer Internship Program.
This lecture is free and open to the community!
The purpose of this lecture is to inform our
community about the health risks that occur when
ingesting excessive sugar.

Sugar is sucrose which is a combination of two
simple sugars called fructose and glucose. It is a
carbohydrate which is the most important source of
energy for your body because it is converted into
glucose (aka blood sugar).
