Work from Homonym Reading Lesson
Class Time: approximately 30 minutes
Connection/Introduction: (5-15 min.)
- Review previous lesson on homonyms
- Ask students to define homonym and provide examples
Activity/Practice: (25-40 min.)
1. Students should review their Homonyms list/handout
2. Go over which word from each homonym pair relates to food
3. Have students list all words in alphabetical order
4. Have students write a sentence for every word
5. If students are unsure, they can consult their dictionaries again or work in pairs
6. Have students write a paragraph long story in which they include at least 5 pairs
from the homonym list

7. Edit and review with a peer or in a small group. Rewrite and put on good paper
for display
